Alt tabbing doesn't work for me, but still investigating alternatives to get let in before the 6 minute mark...

Black Screen of death, 1st REAL problem with this game because I CAN NO LONGER PLAY! How did this get through internal testing is my question?

I would speculate its a nework issue and they test with a group of people either playing on lan or in the same city. It seems like this is an issue with many north american and canadian game companies. I remember the game Spacemarine multiplayer was killed after their p2p matching and network code had seemingly not been tested with players in multiple countries and the entire thing imploded at launch.

+1, same issue. Sad for a game that I'm a big fan of to fail like this. Hope this gets fixed soon, else you'll not only be losing fans, popularity and money, but you'll lose the lifeblood that makes any game work.

Exactly the same problem here/ Most attempts to launch the game end in a black screen.

I now believe more that the black screen problem is network/server related as someone has mentioned earlier. Just now I was able to get into the game without ALT-TABbing, fiddling with the graphics options etc.

On 2nd game I was able to get in - but I powered up much later than others - this led me to believe that the problem is in the network/server - absolutely nothing to do with graphics.

Uk here. Pings of between 90 & 110. Same issue. Support ticket sent in. Getting similar entries in my log files to the ones posted here so I don't think it's s latency issue. Yet to try the alt tab trick.

so far everyone I have spoken to in any of the pacific rim countries seems to be getting this bug. I'm betting a hell will break loose when europe wakes up.

Alt Tabbing your game does work for me at least. Took 3-4 times to get it to start but at least it did.

For what it is worth another black screen of death - I have not got in but have not wait 5+ mins on 5 tries - they were all Tourmaline Desert (which is another issue). Again from Australia with 235 ping.

Finally got into a match - most others reported similar issues but only 1 DC for that match.

Same issue, more or less; Managed to get into the match on my first two tries after match started for 1 min++, although my entire group crashed out towards the end on the first. Completed the second. After which, I get stuck in that black screen and the game only loads when the match is over; AKA i get to see the results. My 'Mech appears in the game apparently...sometimes when I see the results I'm hovering over my 'Mech's carcass.

Drivers are up to date, around 260~ ping from Singapore, if that matters.

lol i was stuck on black screen while i was installing win7 on the laptop and it went half way installed while i was still on black screen on PC :\ lame 400ms ping though thanks to fiber cable cut undersea in indian ocean

alt-tab seems to fix it

• after loading screen goes away and the screen turns back, just alt tab to windows
  
• wait for a few seconds and alt-tab back
  
• if you see a cursor: wait and it will work
  
• if you don't see a cursor: alt-tab again (repeat from step 2)

Same issue with the black screen. I am a high ping player as well usually 280 - 320. (Thailand). I have the latest nvidia drivers for my GE Force GT 630M series.
