Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is a reported bug, but after today's patch I can't seem to load up a game. The screen cuts to the map loading page, then after loading it goes to a black screen where I can't do anything. Any workarounds for this?

Alt-Tab several times. Eventually you will get the Map.

Ok, two matches since the patch and video driver update and two blacks screens. I tried the alt + tab trick and it got me in game, but it was like I was not in game. I could walk around and fire but I could not target mech and I do not think they could see me. I also could not chat to my team or on all chat. I will send a support ticket, but anyone have any ideas?

My system ran fine before the patch and nvidia driver update. I will try updating my driver again and go from there.

Thanks to Bark for talking crap on team chat and telling me how useless I am and that I need to throw my pc away. You are awesome! :P

Reinstalling my drivers has not helped. I think I will try a reinstall of MWO or log a bug and wait to see what is said. Either way tonight was a waste. So, it goes sometimes.

Ive tried 3 different computers and every game tonight from 7pm central time to 10pm i couldnt get into a game. Just loading screen and then black screen to oblivion alt tabing a hundred times dont work for me.

Same issue. Forced a re-patch in an attempt to replace any corrupt/damage files, no good. Also dropped video settings to lowest with no effect.

Considering a reinstall next, but I'll wait to see what support suggests. I'm not too hopeful though, this bug has been around for quite a few patches now with no real fix (from what I can tell).

EDIT: Just tried from a different PC, same issue. Also tried a new account, same story. The issue remains, although pressing ALT+enter (fullscreen/windowed) 2-3 times seemed to be a pretty reliable workaround so far.

I've been getting this happening since patch; the game fully loads at the splash screen for the map, then goes black as it is about to drop you in to the world. It remains at the black screen from this point on.

I've tried doing the ctrl-alt-del trick a few times (where Windows brings up the blue fullscreen menu), which has helped with in-game lock-ups in the past, but that has only worked once.

When I got in-game, there were anomalies with some keys acting improperly, such as deleting a portion of typed chat text.

This is a far wider saturation than PGI is leading us to believe. The entire clan of 150 players I am with, and its closest one with 300 are experiencing this.

I play on 2 computers and my main one has not worked since the patch. I tried a resintall of MWO and still no change. I'll try setting to fullscreen and do the Alt-Tab workaround.

On my laptop, I am able to join games, but most of the time it's buggy (not able to chat, targetting/HUD issues, and other "anomalies")... plz help!

Forgot to mention, by "not worked", I mean it shows the loading screen and then black screen. I have to terminate the process otherwise it just stays there, if I restart MWO, it says my mech is in a game and I think my stats are suffering every time it happens...

Ok, my workaround is slightly different... i have to start in fullscreen... then Alt-Tab a few times... after a while I have to do an Alt-Enter to go to windowed mode for it to come, by then my team is usually gone and i'm alone at base... pretty annoying.. and i can't chat every time...

Wtf... since the patch, I to am experiencing the same thing. I try to load a game, it goes to the game load splash screen, loads up, then a black screen. The only way out of it is to open task manager and stop the process. I retry, and the same thing happens. I currently have 4 mechs "In Game" which is impossible. I would really like to play. Fix this asap gdi. It's impossible because to much time has passed for the game to still be in session. The alt-tab method has worked for me once. What also sucks is the fact that I cannot chat in game. Both team and global chat don't even show up, despite checking and saving my key bindings for the aforementioned commands. This is complete bull, as I cannot even play this game. This game I love so much. This game that I have stopped playing every other game I used to in its wake. Fix it... Fix it soon.

The last thing I did last night was a reinstall that did not help. Today I sent all the troubleshooting info to PGI. I figured I will try it tonight just for grins, without changing anything else. So far after one drop it works. Not sure what if anything I did fixed it.

experienced the same... after loading the screen goes black.... but i wait and wait..... and finaly enter the game... but very late... the game almost finish or on other occasion finished....... one time an atlas already reach the base.. and he said "i saw you suddenly woke up... that is the strangest thing.." a lot lof anomaly happen such as not able to chat, and found 3 mechs wandering around with no pilot...(perhaps they have flasing polygon on their hub.........which also happen to me on other occasion...)

I'm a moron. I don't know how many people this would work for, but it worked for me. Apparently my video drivers weren't current. I updated. Problem solved. By the by.. ATI Radeon 4850 HD.

The problem, recently, just suddenly happened to me for no apparent reason.. I got it once in the past but it seems to work again on its own as I dont recall doing anything about it.. Now its back, I've tried dozens of launches but no use.

I press launch, once a game is found, a black screen shows up for several minutes, then the loading screen, shows (at this moment the rest of my 4 man group lance begin the game but I am stil in the loading screen) and as soon as the loading bar is full, another black screen appears and I never enter the game.

I have tried to run the MWO repair tool, re-install my MWO client, restart the system, restart my router, diagnose network connections, delete cache folder, update video drivers but with no use.

I ran the game for a very long time without any problems or issues except until now. This is the second time this incident happens, with the first time occurring all by itself and stopping for some mysterious reason.

FYI, this never happens in testing grounds!
