Well, technically I believe it was a Rainbow track. Which means Dio + Ritchie Blackmore. And since I consider those 3 albums the peak of both of those esteemed gents careers (this in spite of being an Elf, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio and Blackmore's Night fan).

Temple of the King, Greensleeves...... So many good tracks.

Anyhow, my sound track tends to vary, but some regular ones would be:

Sabaton: Cliffs of Gallipoli, Ghost Division
Nightwish: End of All Hope, Planet Hell, Bless the Child
ArchEnemy: My Apocalypse,
Slayer: War Ensemble, Expendable Youth
Metallica: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Disposable Heroes, DMG inc
Death Angel: Seemingly Endless Time, Truce
Evile: Those About to Die, Infected Nations, Armoured Assault
Bolt Thrower: Warmaster, Lest We Forget, As Cannons Fade, The Killchain, Anti-Tank
Iron Maiden: the Trooper, Aces High, Tailgunner, Paschendale, The Longest Day
Opeth: Masters Apprentices, Deliverance, the Devil's Orchard
Eluveitie: Inis Mona, Thousandfold

And many more...... Got some 3000 albums, most of which I am still too lazy to rip to my computer.

Good taste. Perhaps you might like fighting for the Combine?

Megadeth, angry again, or symphony of destruction. Anything deliberate and methodical, especially if I'm driving the flame.

In my Jenner? The more ampage the better:
Black sunshine by white zombie, judas priest's painkiller, Jesus built my hotrod by ministry.... You know, that kind of thing.

Also, rip DIO, thank you for bringing us the hand sign for metal (well, at least that context for it). I love how you know a dio song is starting, so much momentum. It's like having music driven into your brain with a bass guitar as a hammer.

What is in there merc, I can't see it.

Can't go wrong with Amon Amarth for this game. And if that song doesn't suit the FRR, nothing does. :)

Not listening to Mechwarrior 2's superior soundtrack while playing MWO.

You're all bad and you should feel bad.

Naa I'm kidding, seriously though, the MW2 soundtrack works wonderfully.

I guess that I'm the only one here is isn't choosing anything metal-ish in there music, I feel so strange, but here's two songs that I like to hear when I'm smashing giant robots...

@bagheera

Amon Amarth is one of the few melodeath acts I can consistently listen to. Though I prefer their "pure" Death big brothers in Unleashed just a skosh more. Power, Thrash and Death tends to be just the right blend of peaks for stomping giant space robots!
(also, actually pretty much ANY track from Death is quite welcome, too. And Obscura). And add some Meshuggah. Bleed makes me want to grind members into bloody chunks.

@TexasMerc

Yup, another good one, though for a number of reasons, I consider Seasons in the Abyss their penultimate album (perfect mix of aggression and melody... And awesome high school memories)

I just played a match listening to that. :] Most of the UT soundtrack works well for this game!

As for what I usually listen to, it varies but tends to stay electronic. I've been digging Feed Me while playing MWO of late.

Agreed on the Amon Amarth. I could listen to them all day long. So amazing live. My friend's six year old daughter constantly bugs him to play "Twilight of the Thunder God." To be fair, the first music she ever heard (on the ride home from the hospital) was Slayer. My buddy's doing it right. :huh: I tend listen to heavier death metal though - Suffocation, Bloodbath, Vile, Vehemence (y u no still around?) stuff like that. And I find math metal to be very relaxing. (Dillinger Escape Plan, Cephalic Carnage, Necrophagist, Illogicist)

Coincidentally, I learned a new term today when I was looking up Behemoth - blackend death metal - apparently I've been listening to it (well, Behemoth anyway) for years and I never knew. :excl: Dig me some thrash and death though.

With that, here's another of my favorites.

Now those guys are awesome live. I recommend jumping in the pit for that track, especially when you're the only "guero" jumping in. :)

DonT over look Atheist and Pestilence. Also I list OBscura because their last 2 albums had the best bassist in metal on them. I do listen to a fair mix of blackened metal. I prefer it mixed with folk or progressive..... Or both, like Moonsorrow and Negura Bunget. Or some good "evolved" black metal acts like Primordial and Sigh.
