Personally I think that hero mechs should be eye-wateringly expensive. They are supposed to be unique variants driven by iconic canonical heroes of the Battletech universe or protoptypes (as in the case of the X-5).

In that case it should be a lottery or an auction - so only a hand full players have that mech...even if it means that a complete noob would be the only one running the pinky without brain

Its bad when its more about PAYING the game than PLAYING the game.

Or maybe you need have a Win/Loss or Kill/Death ratio of 2.0 over the last 20 games played with the same chassis to be allowed to run the hero model of that chassis type. The moment you drop under 2.0 it locks up next game.

Not sure how that idea is viable, but it's an idea.

They may actually make more money if they were auctioned.  Then they would be really expensive.

Just wait for a sale.

This is what I did for my Ilya...

Patience is a virtue.

Wait for a sale!

A LOYALTY PROGRAM WOULD BE WONDERFUL.

Indeed it would. Capslockingly good, in fact!

Its not that much, its like 28$...

Each new post I see on this claims a little higher.

That includes the cost of the therapy the OP will need to cope with loss of $28
