What did we just choose here, with "Reserve your Pilot name?"
Did we reserve our "Pilot Name"? If so should I have Chosen John Smith?, and used Technoviking as my callsign?
What if I get a bloodname?
What if I get a bad name for myself and want to change it?
What if I want to smurf?
What if I want to join two factions?
If I have multiple BTU/MW "characters" should I hurry up and reserve all the possible names?
How will naming working in MWO, and what have we "reserved" here?

I believe one of the Dev's commented on this in another thread. Effectively, this will be the name everyone within the game and further eco-game related eco-system will know you by.

Isn't it possible to ban an IP adress?

It is, but I don't know if that works for long if you have a dynamic IP. You can just change it if it's dynamic, and get around a ban. Not sure about the particulars, though.

An individual IP ban is easy to avoid, and quite ineffective. All someone has to do is unplug their cable modem, retether their wireless, reset their DSL, or simply redial into their dialup. Most people do not get a static IP Assigned to them, unless they're doing something other than home internet.
An IP Subset ban would be more effective, but runs the risk of alienating a group of users, or whole ISP.

That's why IP-adress bans exist.
