I went to play MWO and it wants to patch the game but it is not downloading the patch had it running for 2 days now and no download...

I don't think this is a common situation. So, I'd like to help you resolve your problem, but I'm gonna need some more info first. Sorry if some of these are stupid questions, they just need to be asked:
-Did you try restarting the patcher?
-Had you been able to play the game prior to this patch or is this your first-time install?
-Do you have much free space (say, 2 GB) on your PRIMARY HDD? (ie. the one Windows is installed on)
Besides your answers to these questions, I might also need to see your frontend_patcher_log.txt file (located in Bin32\PatcherLogs).
