Hey all I mainly pilot a light mech and I keep the armor for the torso as: 2/3 front 1/3 rear.
I was wondering how other people distribute their armor for their various mechs.

Heavies and assaults, 98% front, 2% back. Unless it's a high heat build. Then 70/30.

I've got my JR7s set at 34/10 right now. It depends partially on the mech, the Jenner for example has a pretty large CT hitbox, making it possible for shots fired from behind to hit the front CT.
The best armor allocation is the one that consistently keeps you alive for as long as possible. I have about 20 points on the rear CT of my CTF-4X simply because it turns so slowly.

o.O Really? Dang. Much more front heavy then I have ever done.
That's why it wins straight-out brawls every time. And why it dies so fast when they get behind me.
It's also why my flamer stalkers survive blind bull rushes and come out very much alive, time and time again against other enemies.

This is the world of weird things. Such as Flamer Raven 3-Ls, Flamer AC-10 Jagers, Trollbuchets with flamers, MGs, and SRMs, and so many more. (Flamer Jenner was a complete failure; not doing that again).
But, that said. I found a perch. I'm quite content here.
