Yesterday, I was playing in a trial Awesome mech (one with 3 PPCs). When I saw an enemy mech from 300m away (map was Forest colony I think, so hard to see behind the trees), I got cored from 100% healthy mech in <2 seconds). Suspected aimbot - is there anything we can do about those guys? Such as gather statistics on how many kills were like that and if close to 100%, give temp ban for 7days, or something like that.

Awesome has a pretty big torso and cockpit.

At 300m, a man doesn't have to be even a great shot to kill you in one hit with 2x AC/20.

I've been playing for a while, even though I am not a great player. And I've never been killed like that. Even under fire of 5 mechs at the same time, one of which is at 100m with 2 AC 20, I still lived for approximately 5 seconds, and almost every part of the mech was destroyed or severely damaged. Okay, it could have been just bad luck this time, but there have been similar complaints here recently. Why not gather some facts/stats and make a conclusion? I'm sure PGI have access to these data.

Because it is impossible to separate real headshots from aimbots... if there even are any.

On the other hand... this one time, I did die in a very suspicious way.

I was running a Stalker-3F 4 LL boat and was duking it out with a Catapult-C1 which was about 400 meters away. I was sitting in an area where his LRMs couldn't really hit me & all he could shoot with were 2 MLs.

Nobody else was engaging me, my mech's armor was yellow all-round (bright, barely damaged yellow). And when preparing do drop the hammer on the poor Cat, I drop dead, CT missing, head untouched.

I didn't see who killed me...

Cause of death "Engine Destroyed".

PS: This was after the LRM fix.

So tell me, what can go through 80 points of Stalker CT armor, his internals & its engine *instantly*? I didn't hear any "critical damage" messages... nothing. Just died.

Now if that ain't suspicious, I don't know what is...

PPS: No, I didn't overheat.

You can sometimes get lucky with headshots, but not all the time. If anybody is doing 100% CT hits all the time, from any distance, against all chassis, this must be suspicious. As far as the technical part (of it being possible), try googling for 'mwo aimbot', I mean it's not hard to find.

Exactly same thing. You usually get hit several times, critical damage, weapon destroyed etc. In short, it takes a while.

Why not?

Especially against something like Awesome, headshotting is a piece of cake. Jegermechs are also slow and easy to kill that way. Slower Hunchbacks, Centurions and Trebuchets are also pretty easy to hit. If the Highlander engages you, the cockpit is not all that hard to hit. Altough, of cours, the easiest mech to headshot is the Catapult. If you know where to aim, Cataphract is also pretty much screwed.

Imo, if you are facing a mech that has an alpha of 30+ and you give him more than 3 seconds, there is a really big chance you are going down.

This doesn't sound like the use of an aimbot, but simply a good shot.

If you suspect someone of using 3rd party tools or other means to cheat the game, please contact support@mwomercs.com. Include in your mail as many informations as possible, such as (but not limited to):
- Date/Time/Timezone
- Map played
- Players involved
- Other players in same match (possible witnesses)
- Screenshots
- Links to video or other media files

The support team will then take further steps.
