Game Getting... Boring?

tbh the trend of people trying to make their exit from the game grande and glorious with an inflammatory forum post is getting old. If you don't like stompy bots just leave.

1. ECM
2. Conquest (although when I play i set it to Assault, but I always forget that first match and get stuck in conquest)
3. Match maker not balancing weight classes.
4. hit box detection state rewind helped with lag shield, but hasn't affected broken hitboxes, although I found it hillarious that it worked against the light mechs during the 1 day LRM-acolypse.
So bored isn't the right word, frustrated.
Fortunately there is a lot of gaming options this spring.

World of Warships sound interesting... I just hope that stupid developper that is Wargaming.net won't do the same mistakes they did with WoT (that is, placing different tier tanks in the same match, and cash-in on stuff that shouldn't even be in-game like gold ammo). Gotta give them credit though, they'll be the first one to do a Warship game and I really want to try it out.

btw.... Belorion to throw out a generality like "you may not like PvP" is kind of insulting don't you think. Maybe the game sucks, maybe he just doesn't like this game, maybe, maybe ,maybe. Assumptions always get you killed.

where did I say people got better? A 5 years old with down syndrone could do well with a dual gauss or quad-ppc build, there's no skill in that.

I guess I could say that I'm bored AND frustrated, you brought interesting points.

My problem atm is the two latest maps that were added. They're just way too big, and I don't enjoy running for five minutes so that I can fight for 2. It would be ok if we had objectives and stuff, you know, like in enemy territories, but we don't. We just walk and walk and walk.
Not taking a full on break just yet, but I do play considerably less than I used to.
Oh, and by the way, when you are up against a load of nubs wielding nothing but long range sniper weapons, sneak up behind them and give 'em hell. They're usually too busy trying to shoot one of your team members, so you can easily get a kill or two. I find this very amusing.
Anyways, stomp on dude!

thx for the advice, but I'm not bored because I sometimes die quick, I'm bored because a lot of people are running the same builds over and over again and there's just no diversity in the game.

Its still the same game as it was 4-5 months ago.
But learning time is over for many of us atm. Its getting serious now.
I always run balanced builds, no one trick ponies or boats becouse i despise them...and im quite succesfull.
But there always will be people who will go the "easy" road and boat ac20...And die in every serious premade game.

Where do you see them saying that? The last I read is they are looking at it. There is also a note that as of 3/22 ECM changes were about a month out (iirc). So if they think it's balanced, why are they looking at it, and why are changed due?

Yeah, I understand what you mean. However, I don't feel that this is due to weapon inbalance, but rather due to the relative ease to perform well with the cookiecutter setups.
I usually have a varied setup on my mechs, and I can do pretty good in them. I never use lrms, but then again that's because I hate them. Otherwise I tend to mix weapons a lot. It's not so much about the mech, as long as it has DHS and ES, but more about the pilot.
That being said, I still sympathise with your concerns. It is getting boring, and allthough we might have different reasons for feeling this way, we agree on one thing: there simply isn't enough variation to keep the game interesting. Be it mech loadouts or map objectives, the same stands. It's just an endless grind with no long term goals.
One thing though. Medium mechs seem to have been left by the side. It's either light or assault mechs, and the occasional heavy. This is not good imo.

They say it's close to where they want it to be, not exactly where they want it to be.

To be fair the changes only effect your ability to see friendlies in an ECM field, nothing more really. They are indirectly saying ECM is ok.

the match maker needs rectifying to make the game not dominated by heavies.
to put it simply...the Cataphract is too popular, and PPCs need retweaking, they run too cool now. are spammable / exploitable.
6 PPC stalkers should not be a viable build on Tourmaline. Add some actual consequences to constantly overheating. PPC "lockup", they just get too hot and can break or something. If my experience with generators and other electrical devices has taught me anything...it's that **** breaks when it gets too hot.

I guess I pretty much agree. I seldom see effective mediums out there anymore, and back in the day mediums were my bread and butter (miss my Bushy). And it seems that my loadouts have dropped to alpha mixes of PPC, ERPPC, and gauss, or eventually go that way in my "keeping this one" builds. My LRM hit % can't get out of the 30's, even with Artemis. I feel like I've been forced into these builds because of the new larger maps and the fact that you have to prepare for a general best since you have no control of your drop.
I am really disappointed with the absolute lack of depth MWO has. I swear an immersive MMO was touted when rumors of MWO popped up, but I suppose that could have just been wishful thinking. I just wanted something different than hours every night making random drops for no goal other than stats and the drive to do a little better than the previous drop. It's so very short-sighted. Maybe CW will solve this...I dunno.
Regardless, I'm still here every night, for hours. Confessions of a MW addict.
