I'm just curious if anybody has used a joystick/throttle kit to any success in MWO yet. So far i've been sticking to my keyboard/mouse setup and i'm not blowing money at any joystick/throttle system until i've heard from people who have and then shop accordingly.

Has anybody pulled it off yet? If so what are you using?

Yes, since CB, check it out! If you wind up with a Thrustmaster Cougar, Warthog, or even T16000 I've got really good scripts for them, in a few flavors, all packed with highly useful features such as axiz sensitivity control on the fly and all in game functions sensibly on the HOTAS, refined over the course of nearly 2400 matches.

However the subject of sticks and control inputs is a much more complicated matter than the technical aspect of 'does it work with MWO'. It's actually pretty easy to get to the 'it works' stage with most sticks out there. Unfortunately as of now all but the TM sticks listed above pretty much stop right there, and do not proceed to step two, the ever elusive 'it works well' stage. The road there is another story altogether, and one I write too many walls of text about on this subforum all to often!

Loc: Special Request: Could you post your Warthog script? I only ever saw the one for the T16000.

To answer OP: Turbo Corvair was, at one stage, number 24 overall in the first tournament held. Not an easy feat before Analog axis leg turning. He has built his own Mechpit. This was out of approx 6000 rankings. So it can be done.

The balanced answer: The best of both worlds is a mouse for aiming and Throttle and Rudder pedal to steer.
Having said that: Would not give up my Warthog for all the women in China. And there are many.

Oh, expect HOTAS setups to be costly, just a fair warning. Except for the T 16000, maybe. Thrustmaster leads the way on software features.

Logi Extreme 3D pro and a nostromo n52 work fine for me.
