Although the Timber Wolf looks wonderbar, I don't know how the word 'graceful' applies to it. The Hoplite's wide flared saucer body reminds me of the King Crab and I like that too, plus a 'mech with some underslung weapons like that interests me. Plus other pictures I've seen makes it look like it has a cicada's kind of leg structure.
I'm just really bored of all the human-shaped 'mechs.

I've always thought the chicken-legged 'mechs moved more gracefully than the stompy humanoid-legged ones. I've loved the Timber Wolf ever since this:

SWEET!!! The Hoplite is hideous BUT it is 55 tons, which fills the empty weight slot, AND it is the only medium that I know of that has a design option that carries ECM.

How can you hate that? It looks like a 55 ton lovechild of a Jenner and a yellow taxi but with GUNS!!!

I would love the Hoplite. Fills the 55 ton niche and it would be hunchback speed, which actually isn't that slow if you put the bigger engines in it.

Actually you couldn't be more wrong. I'd FAR prefer Wolverine, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, Phoenix Hawk (ok not 55 tons) ...

The point is ...that as much as I don't want a Dervish..I LOATHE the idea of the hoplite.

Again..Don't need another slow medium mech......

And before somebody says these are unseen or reseen.

Then lets talk about other medium designs..Clint, assassin, vindicator .....there are several across the whole weight class..But lets get something USEFUL...slow mediums tend to be easier pickings.

But don't think this is an endorsement of the Dervish either.

That is my only complaint about the Dervish. It's just a better Trebuchet. Who would get a Trebuchet if they could get on that had 5 more tons?

So, it would get fewer missile hardpoints than it should be cause of the FearOfFastMediums, and then missiles would be "adjusted" shortly after its release rendering it functionally impotent?

Considering that the Mauler made an appearance on an ISN feed a while back its safe to say that it's not a guaranteed barometer of stuff incoming into the game.

However the news post about the Catapult C3 got my hopes up for Arrow IV.

A stock HOP-4D will be horrible though, especially since the LB 10-X is the most ******** LB-X interpretation in a Mech Game. The versions they might add are, of course the 4D, and also the 4B, 4Bb (SLDF royal, with ECM, although apparently PGI likes to follow the dumb rule not to add SLDF until Jihad, even though they are simple upgrades with tech available now), 4C, and 4Cb

In any case, I wouldn't mind the Hoplite being added, or the other 2 choices they had in that poll, Dervish, and Kintaro.
