Light mechs with ballistic hardpoints have no other alternatives for those ballistic hard points.

MG and flamer already has very bad range.

A buff to damage or fire rate will not break the game. and i would be very surprised if the buff has any effect at all.


critical damage mechanics sound good on paper but is only 1/3 of the health of a mech. not only is it inconsistant it has very little impact on gameplay.it should not be used in any way for balance.

MG needs a 3km range and a 20% chance to create the big-sparks-effect.
After all, the only reason we use them at all is for the sound effects. It would be neat if it got some visual improvement.

Machineguns need to do something, AC2 needs better heat, and LBX needs to not suck any more. That and the little guys need to get their SRMs back.

The game needs new weapons. Can't do much with the existing ones.

What's wrong with the LBX 10? I've used it to great effect against lights on a regular basis.

I wouldn't be inclined to call the LBX a small weapon but I do believe that machine guns could use a significant boost to their damage without serious harm. Even if that improvement is only the addition of MG arrays. Improving their ability to displace ammunition would be all I ask for.
