As it is, while using throttle decay, as soon as you press another button on your keyboard (mine anyway) the throttle key stops sending signal to the computer. For example..
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwb
I'm pretty sure this is hardware related. This is an issue when bringing up the Command Map, or Chat, or other 'Mech functions while in the middle of a fight. As soon as you activate any of these functions, your throttle drops to zero despite holding down on the forward/reverse key.
Would it be possible to code it so that the last throttle setting is kept when activating 'Mech functions?
Or.. can anyone suggest an (preferrably ergonomic) gaming keyboard that will accept multiple key presses and still send signal from a depressed key?

Yeah it is the keyboard hardware limitation called "Keyboard Ghosting". Unfortunately it is not possible for PGI to circumvent that.
However, depending on your keyboard, some keys such as ctrl, shift, and alt are not included in the limitations. Maybe binding to those keys may help. Otherwise you will need to buy a new keyboard with the "N-key rollover" feature.
