I readily admit I just may be off my game today. I'm curious, though, if anyone else has been running into a lot of inexplicable point-blank misses this afternoon. Had a game where I plugged a cataphract @ less than 100m with ERPPCs multiple times. Not only was I missing the side torso I was aiming at, I wasn't registering damage at all. (Yes, they were the ER flavor, not standard PPCs.) My ping was in the 50-60 range, so that's not it.
Anyone else? Otherwise I'm just going to presume a bout of derp aiming on my part.

Missing At Close Range, Or Just Me?

At the moment there are connection problems. My buddies and me got a lot of warping and rubberbanding. Don't know if the hotfix messed something up or that the servers have severe connections problems.
When your target warps 20-50m to another location then your shot will likely miss him even if your client shows otherwise.

hai, it is the rubber banding. I do not know how many of my team mates I have actually hit due to that.. delayed firing, repositioning.. at last I have not had a team kill...yet..

I put a pair of AC20 rounds straight through a Cent's CT at 26m without inflicting damage. He was stationary, which makes it worse.... I watched as they impacted the sloped wall behind him...

Were your ER PPCs/AC20s on your arms?
There are issues with point blank shots where the weapons don't converge right --- so the shots cross either in front of or behind the enemy.
Oftentimes this happens against mechs like the centurian with a thin waist, your shots converge directly behind him after passing between his arms and torso.
[Unlike some games, your weapons are actually to the left and right of your cockpit, so they fire at an angle to intersect the point where your crosshairs are resting. ]
YOu also get crazy AC20 shots that converge directly in front of you. PPCs might do it too.

I almost rage-quit last night when I was in my Cicada dueling with a Raven and 90% of my ERPPC shots when right through him without registering hits.

I have seen this numerous times where a ppc bolt of either type goes THROUGH a target at close range. That's one reason I stick to gauss anymore.
