Over my time playing MWO i have noticed that alot of builds nowadays have only one or two different weapons, personally i have NO problem with these builds in-fact one of my favorite builds is the 6ML cicada. What i suggest is a small c-bill bonus to players using 3 or more different weapons in their build.

i would like to see this in-order to try and encourage players to play builds that are more difficult to play as well as reduce the predictability in builds.

what do i mean by predictability in builds?
Whenever i see certain mechs i can usually guess what build they are going to use if not ill be able to guess the majority of the weapons they are using. centurions are a prime example of this, i can, with great accuracy, assume that a centurion 9-A is using a build that consists of purely ML and SRM 6's. the centurion is just one case and over the 1000+ matches i have played i have noticed more than a few patterns on mech builds especially boat builds.

what precisely do i mean by 3 or more different weapons?
exactly that :P duplicates of the same weapon such as 2+ srm 6's would only count as 1 weapon.
examples:

2LL 1ac5 --> 2 different weapons

2erppcs 2ML 1 ac2 --> 3 different weapons

6mg 2LL 1AMS -> 2 different weapons (AMS,BAP, ECM are not weapon systems)

how much of a bonus?
This is more something for the devs to decide and 'us' to debate, personally i feel that the bonus should be C-bills with either 5% or a flat rate between 10 and 20,000 c-Bills. but i wouldn't mind of a 2-5% exp bonus.

Potential benefits:
more diversity especially good to have IMO due to the 'realativly few' mechs we have atm
(possibly) reducing the popularity of cheese builds
encourage experimentation
your build isn't as likely to be hard countered

Potential downsides:
heat management (could) be more difficult
exploitable? (annnd a small laser for the bonus)
farm exp-$ mentality
bad builds on your team

Before commenting Please note:
this is not a post to complain about current boat builds or any of the currently 'disliked' builds in the game any opinions on game balance are more than welcome in the correct forum.
also its 11:50PM and im awful at spelling on a good day :P

What do you think people of the internet? Is this something you would like to see? What do you like/dislike about this?

Yes, People who don't abuse boating should be rewarded but mechs that have only one type of harpoints(AWS-8Q or CTP-A1) get the reward with 2 deferent weapons

Having 3 weapons is easy to produce on certain mechs... like the Dragon or Atlas.

It does nothing to solve problems.

If anything, it allows for BAD builds with a giant BAD NEWBIE DESIGN SIGN when the weapon loadout shows up.

The most I did was having 4 different weapons on an Atlas-D. It did OK, but it was pretty sub-optimal.
