The two LRM patches we've had in the past week have made the game-balance significantly worse, not better. One made LRMs way too powerful, the other super-nerfed them to the point of total worthlessness.

There were some other balance changes, for example, to AC/5, LB 10-X, MG, Flamer, PPC recycle time slightly slowed, etc. I think those changes were positive (but not enough) however they have been far out-weighed because the dominant meta-game is extreme-range trash.

In addition, the Seismic Sensor is yet another nerf to brawling.

Weight balance is WAY off between teams, as for skill level about ok.

I voted no. Been playing MWO on and off since late Sept 012' and while it started very rough, and has driven me off for weeks at a time, overall the game has been steadily improving imo.

LRM Spam, then poptarts, then LRM Spam, then LRM Spam and poptarts. Not much in it to be a brawler other than feeling like you did nore than hit space bar or right click.

I don't think LRM's are worthless now ... they are under powered, but maybe HSR will fix that ... if not, they can always tweak the numbers up a bit.

I would agree ... I actually like how PPC / Guass and PPC / AC20 line up now. MG are still worthless, but moving in the right direction, LB10X still doesn't seem effective, and flamer is not exploitable now ... all moving in the right direction.

What? how in the world did you come to that conclusion? Seismic is a nerf to "sneak attacks" and "stealth scouting", but has no impact on brawling itself. I do think it's OP and I think it will be nerfed.

I think it's moving in the right direction. The overriding issue has been the buggy tech. The fact that HSR is still not fully implemented is a HUGE issue. If the core mechanics of the game are not right, then all other power balance is futile.

To properly balance a game, power wise, you have to have stable baseline numbers ... right now, those base lines are being thrown off with underlying engine fixes (like HSR, how missile target, etc, etc).

The game, and the community, has suffered greatly due to bugs and tech issues. Hopefully all that gets resolved in the coming weeks ... even so, there are large portions of the player base that left and might not come back, and that doesn't help the game at all.

Balance hasn't changed much because they haven't been focusing heavily on weapon balance yet. After netcode fixes is when it speeds up I bet.

I brawl every match (even alpine, tho if I feel I can't get into brawl range I'll walk off the map edge in protest of such a sniper biased map) and have a ball. Typically you'll only get 0-1 kill max due to all the inc spam stealing your stats, but to be up in the face of some little nobody who thought they were safe tarting the back lines is priceless.

Sure, but eventually, every PPC/Gauss boat in the game will have an Adv Seismic Sensor, and it will be impossible to sneak into brawling range against them. You'll have to work your way up to them through PPC spam from a range where your weapons are not effective, and theirs are, without the benefit of surprise.
