Im having the same problem. about 1 out of 4 matches the HUD doesn't load. Sometimes I still have chat boxes sometimes not.

after i press launch, I'm back in mechlab with my mech "in game" anyone with the same problem??

I'd occasionally get hud errors, but tonight I've been getting them nearly every other match. The last match I was in, I got a team mate mad since I attacked him thinking him to be an enemy since the friend/foe targeting overlays didn't load. I know these ui bugs have been occurring since before I started and they're negatively impacting the game in a very bad way.

target indicator doesnt show visual icon for missile lock

I can't chat in game at all anymore. Enter doesn't do anything.

I had to reinstall and it fixed that for me. :D

I've experienced all of these since the last patch, many of them multiple times a night. If one thing should work 100% it's the interface as has already been said, without it the game is almost unplayable, it's very frustrating.

I'm afraid HUD may be the only custom module for CryEngine that had to be programmed from scratch for MWO.

Only real bit of UI programming done and its current state is... absolutely pathetic. Wow, gg!

The thing is that even though the HUD always had these bugs they were mostly rare issues, now every second game there is something and that is the best case.

The HUD is badly designed anyway:
-Can't really fight up or downhill 'cos the map or other parts of the HUD obscure the arm crosshair.
-Crosshairs and other parts of the HUD are hard to see on some maps.
-General unfinished feeling (for example that damn line connecting the torso and arm crosshars).

So it would be a good thing if it'd get the attention it deserves both in design and bug-fixing.

I did a full reinstall and it helped with some performance issues but I've had these HUD issues in the majority of games I've played today.

- No mini or fullsize map
- Every HUD icon appears active with WWWWWWW across mech ID's and the chat line
- No functioning chat during match. It only worked on my death screen, when I clicked spectate I was unable to chat
- Upon dying I am not able to bring up the tactical map.
- EDIT: almost forgot, when the HUD displays every icon on it I am unable to distinguish friend or foe, IE no red/blue on any mech.

-EDIT2: Just started a match with 0 HUD display. Unable to chat or view friend/foe

20 games
18 were bugged with a variety of the afor-mentioned bugs...(.and low fps compared to before last patch)
a bit p***ed .... :D

Forgot to mention that i've encountered a new HUD bug today:

No target indicators at all, but everything else is fine, tried to remember who is friendly via camo, not even remotely easy in a PUG game.

I had a new UI bug, My compass was not showing facing, and the map had the same problem. Interestingly, the name of my mech and the mechs I was viewing after dying displayed a number, that I assume ranged from -255 to 255 (the highest I actually saw was 255 but the lowest was around -50) and seemed to correspond to the facing of the mech since it changed as the facing did. I've already sent a bug report to support, but I think we may want to see if the hud seems to display information corresponding to other data.

The latest I've had was where I had no hud whatsoever. After I died in the match, the name of the pilot I was viewing was listed as something like '0:@mpl:1;1:@mpl:2;2:@mpl'.
I'd paste in the log section but it's an endless tide of "UIElement does not have object".

I dont have crashes, however I have more Frequent Simulation of Fire Control System Failure, Targetting System Failures as well as Radar and Communications System Failure.

I have continueous fired and hired many mech engineers since this patch roll out, blaming them for the damages I am taking due all these failures in the field of battle.

End of Roleplaying



1) My HUD seems to be flickering on and off while playing.... especially in the Desert and Caustic Maps... is this this the new features to simulate Fire Control Systems failures in hottest regions?

2) My mapping is all wierd out either with a blank display or a weird Old School Heat vision color palattees. Simulation of ECM shielding failure? causing Radar and Communications system failure?

3) The Radar also simulates a malfunction where turning the torso of the mech or turning the mech does not translate at all to the Map indicators....

This game is really getting Ultra Realistic ! Now please give me a FPS shooter where I execute my engineers who had failed in their checks on my mech pre mission launches :P

Yes, I have pretty much all of the above issues.

Most annoying and game breaking is of course the no hud at all bug.
But second is the lack of IFF intel, especially when you zoom in.

I also have had the mini map bugged out and in rainbow colors. Which was pretty nice, but worthless. Rest of the screen is fine. Just the mini map that is borked.

I have had:
  • IFF gone when zooming (often)
  • Black Map without visible torso twist
  • Black Map but can still see torso twist
  • Rainbow color minimap
  • Nightvision auto-switchoff

  • Flickering terrain textures, causes headache. :x
  • While spectating other mechs, their chassis and model show up as "WWWWWWWW" (give or take a few letters)
Intel CPU and NVidia 590 GTX in single-GPU mode.

Hud disappears entirely after about the 3rd game. I have to close and restart the game client. Its fun though to try and aim with no crosshairs. I drew cross hairs on my screen with a sharpy. Thats ghetto.

I experienced a new bug. I alt-tabbed to play a CD on itunes and when I came back my Ilya was "in-game". I never hit launch and it never cycled like I had hit it. I tried dropping in another game with another mech. I tried restarting my client and computer. After about 20 minutes I finally got my Ilya back by dropping a stalker in the testing grounds.

Dont forget to add these:

- missing chat dialogs
- removing typed text when your mech died

Its sad to see these bugs are still in the game. 3 months for sure.
