Outside of founder mechs (not available for purchase) and hero mechs (available but expensive) there are no mechs that make "more money"
Obviously kills, assists, component destructions, etc will award you more C-bills, but there is no tried and true build guaranteed to get you more kills/assists/etc, it comes down to preference and skill and what mechs you have available.

Ah thanks. That confirms my suspicion.

While that's true there was a mech before SRM nerf that was extremely good at consistently netting all of those things when driven with some brain: The dreaded Splatcat.

SplatCat is too expensive too build

If its definitely worth the investment, I guess keeping the A1 is worth it.

Build the classic OP 3L build.
That's literally the best way...

There are builds that make plenty of money once you elite them (particularly speed tweak). Hunchback 4P (STD ENG 260, 6 Small Pulse Lasers set to chainfire like MGs, two MLs on the arms), 4SP (4 medium lasers, twin SRM-6, STD ENG 260). Centurion A, AL, D (Many configs). Cataphracts 4x (my AC-5, tag, laser and SRM-4 rig). Cataphract 1x (Twin ER PPC shoulders, lasers arms, AC-10, UAC-5, or Gauss right torso, XL 280 engine or up). Any Stalker (STD 310 engine, SRM-6s, medium lasers) or Atlas (many configs). A1 catapult. Virtually any Catapult, but it requires that good engine. Jagermechs AC-20 and AC-10. Gauss Jager is good too.
