As everyone is saying though, best bet is in the Muromets.

Mainly because while the PB and HM are decent mechs (HM moreso than PB), both are significantly more expensive. Flame is decent, but suffers from the standard "too light/odd shaped to brawl, inefficient when fast" issue that all dragons have. Fang is like that, but with a worse hard point set up.
X5 is ok if you want a fast mover hero, and certainly a better option than the DK. Obviously both the X-5 and DK are in a completely different category than the heavies and assaults.

It is a cannon-jockeys-only sort of machine, though. Its beam hardpoints are there pretty much strictly as backups for its cannons, and its missile armament isn't. Ilya likes big guns, and she cannot lie.

Oh, and alternative loadouts:
2xAC10 + 3xMPL
3xAC5 + 3xMPL
3xAC2 + 2x(ER)PPC
I guess what I'm trying to say is: there are options, but none of them are as OP as the 3xUAC build. I personally run it with a 320XL and it rocks!

Ilya is a workhorse that can brawl or snipe very well.
