[Theevenger]

Another post elsewhere had somebody stumble upon someone they'd played with ingame. I thought that was interesting. Sort of like Googling yourself.

Anyone ever play with me before?

Pretty sure no one got hit by missiles in that match. You must be thinking of someone else.

It's pretty cool finding people you know from the forums in game. For me when it happens I feel a need to step up my A-game. Show the person that I can handle myself behind the controls, ya know? Thing is, though, that I'm actually always bringing my A-game anyway and there's been a few times where I'll see someone I know from here, say hi and try to seek them out for friendly battle, and we get killed in the thick of things without ever actually knowing who we were. lol The lovely, impersonal mess of mech-warfare.

I recognise a few names from this thread alone. I'm pretty sure I've played with most of the regular forumites at some time or another. I do recall seeing the OP in-game at least a couple of times. I remember thinking "I wonder if he knows it's spelled with an 'A'..." No offence meant by that, of course. That's just the main reason I remember you.

I recognize a lot of players who play on the same times as me, regardless of whether or not they're active on the forums. Of course most of the ones I recognize have been playing since Closed Beta, the others are mostly the really bad ones, except for the ones that are both.

LOL! I surely do know. Since you brought it up, here's the story behind the name.

I was 12 and playing my first game of Diablo (original Diablo, not Diablo II). I made a Warrior named SirSlayer, and he had an awesome time until dungeon level 2, where he foolishly got trapped in a room with a bunch of skeletons and died. I didn't know how to save my game, so I had to start a new character. I called him Theevenger to "evenge" (/facepalm) SirSlayer.

A couple of years later I finally learned about the spelling, but it was too late. It was already my handle, my email address, ect...

12 years later, I just roll with it. It's way too late to go back and fix it.

Obviously you must build a time machine solely to go back in time so that you may educate your younger self. It's the only sensible solution.
