You're expecting your pilot to get out of a mech, on a battlefield, who's ambient temp is +/- 180F wearing shorts and a t-shirt, to replace a weapon twice his size? Or does he just use magic? because your 'repair tool' sounds like a magical tool that fixes all types of damage. So i'm envisioning a swiss army knife with AI and nano-bot replication systems that are able to take 'air' and turn it into the base materials needed to be shaped into everything from focus lenses for lasers, to ferro-fibourus armor, to breech blocks for ballistics.
Or, if not, where, exactly, are all these extra parts being stored? Because I'd rather use that tonnage for more dakka.
