  • Will critical hit rolls require breaching the armor first or will they be similar to the MW2 model?

  • Will the internal skeleton values be increased to the same degree the armor apparently is?

  • Will explosion damage transfer inward? Will a Thunderbolt with machine gun ammo in the arm also gut the side torso?

  • Will mechs with no crit padding like the MAD-3R still be deathtraps?

Wow, good questions. I have been playing a bit of MW4 (MTX) to prep for MWO and can say I don't really like the idea of changing the armor values upward, as that cheapens the weapons. BUT I also recognize that dying in 1 alpha strike ala-Mechwarrior 2 (which was closer to TT armor values) and sitting out the rest of the match is not so much fun either.

Let's hope PGI gets this right...

You would really have to wait till PGI/Pirahna says something about this or we can all begin playing the game in open beta. I have faith that PGI and Pirahna can do a good job.

I think I remember one of the devs saying there wont be any "bleed over" damage.... I could be mistaken.

As long as the beta testing process is more than just a formality, I think these issues will get worked out.

all they said so far is there will be no bleed through from already destroyed legs into the torso.

But was that in relation to limb damage transfer via normal weapon attack or all damage?

Are you sure about that? If that is true then there will be no need ever for CASE technology. Perhaps they could treat CASE like CASE II and limit explosion damage to a single slot.
