Yes i know there are major bugs and crashes in nearly every game.
I have tested alot to fix that and finally the most simple thing helped.

-deinstalled my grafic driver and restarted the computer
-deinstalled MWO and restared the computer
-installed grafic driver in the latest version and restarted the computer
-installed MWO and restarted the computer
-go to MWO grafic options and turn down enviromental, texturing and post processing a little bit

Before i done this :

-crashes every second or third game
-major bugs every game or every second game

after :

15 games streak without crashes
2 out of these games had bugs

edit:

memory allocation failure is a cryengine 3 error. These steps may help a bit but at least PGI has to fix it.
This happends to both, high end and lower pcs. Turn down enviromental, texturing and post processing helps a bit to prevent that cause they are the most ram eating things.
Cryengine is using ENB technology wich is very v ram intense (ambient occlusion, depth of field, hdr lighting and motion blurr).
This is a general tipp. If you have problems with laggs this is the adress.Turn those options a bit down and the laggs stop. you wont see any big difference but you gain alot performence

edit 2:

sometimes it happenz that MWO conflicts with firefox or internet explorer.
Try to turn every not needed backround program or browser off.

edit 3:

Deinstalling MWO everytime before an upcomming patch and download it again with the new patch included is also a good idea because if you only patch script issues can show up.

This is basiacly all i know what you can do the rest is up to PGI.

I am sorry for you ;) It helped me so far. Not good to hear that it didnt fix your problems or make it at least playable.

PGI needs to fix the myriad of issues, there is no user-side fix for poor regression testing or bad code.

Maybe a quick seance before the match might help cause I've seen so many different threads about people's different solutions to crashing that only seam to work for them and their setup.

Find something that works for you.
I found drinking helps so does a lot of cannabis, at least then I don't notice it crashing as much. :P

Oddly enough, my computer is rarely shut off and my graphics driver isn't the latest, nor has it been clean installed for months (in fact it has had a number of re-installations over the last year), yet I don't get much of this game crashing.
