I'm new-ish to the game. I've been using the DRG-5N(C) trial variant and really like it. Two Large Lasers, Gauss Rifle, Endo Steel. However, I'm having trouble trying to build it on my own. Is there an easy way to copy the loadout? I don't seem to have enough weight space.

Did you include the XL engine? The Trial mech runs one of those, too.

Yeah
The basic idea with XL engines is that they're lighter than the equivalent STD engine. But, while your mech will blow up with a STD only if your center torso is destroyed, your mech will blow up with an XL if any of your torsos are destroyed. Mechs with hard-to-hit side torsos (for example, the Dragon
) can get away with running XL engines, because it's very rare for their LT or RT to be destroyed before their CT.

The most important parts are double heatsinks(or else you'll run too hot), and XL 300 engine(or you won't have enough free weight). And XL engine is lighter version of standard engine. Disadvantage is you die if your side torsos get blown up(as opposed to just your center getting blown up).

more importantly than having the perfect build for a dragon, (just like an awesome) is how you pilot it. You must never EVER think that you can tank. you cant. Support your friendly tank, and **** up whatever is ******* with him, or what he is ******* up. Was that a lot of *******? A dragon is not a catafract or a catapult. Know where your team is at all times.

Requires: Dragon 5N
1 Gauss
2 LL
XL 300 engine
Double Heatsink upgrade
Endo-Steel Upgrade
Ferro-Fibrous Upgrade
installation of 2 Double Heatsinks
Distribute armor and and ammo freely.
I believe the armor is front-heavy. Maybe 20 points on the back. Not sure.
Mine (an infrequent dragon pilot) and Verrick's (a vigorous dragon pilot) experience with it.

I had a thought. I think that this Dragon is the first champion mech, so I wouldn't rush to make it just yet if you have any MCs handy.

To make that dragon? Chassis is "Dragon" under Heavy. The Variant is the "DRG-5N"
If you wait, I think the champion mech will be the exact build of that custom trial mech with its own paintjob.
