Because pgi stated it needed many topics to realise that the community knows what they are talking about.

Machine guns do not do enough damage to:

armor
internals
paint
egos
ammo
gauss rifles
anything

I've killed enemy mechs with nothing but Machineguns and 8 tons of ammo, the thing that ****** me off is the fact that I have to spend 8 tons to get anywhere.

It's hard as hell to kill with it but it's always hilarious to say

"I guess you couldn't handle the Tickle-Monster, now could you?"

If we all had full-body force feedback suits for control, then maybe a tickle monster would be impossible do deal with.
