Of those of you who have tried, what did you find worked out best for you?

I personally prefer my 4x UAC 5 spider 5k. I think it's got the mobility needed to make such a build viable.

None, as yet. I have tried to shove them in to a jager but it resulted in so little survivability...

Dual seems to be the current ideal, at least until a good ballistics assault boat comes along like the annihilator.

EDIT: you end up with something like this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4fe42e3c81e6084 granted, further concessions could be made for a bit more ammo and armor... maybe? But it's already waaay on the derp side of things.

Considering the only 4x uAC build I know of is the Jager, and it doesn't have enough weight to do it viably.. none of them would be my answer, I guess?

It's kinda horrific to imagine what four could do, though, given how quickly you can chew something up with three on an Ilya.

Too slow, trust me,I know. I'm grinding my 4X and hating every 59kph top speed moment of it.

Currently no mech can handle it, maybe some Orion ballistic variant? I don't know if there is such a thing but below 75 tons don't bother even trying.

my 4x utra jager has 176 armor and 61 speed. But it can rip through anything in seconds inluding the atlas. It can kill one mech instantlybut it jams right after. I need to shoot each mech one at a time when they get seperated. By the way I have 8 tons 200 ammo for this beast so I always last the round.

It is possible. Maybe not worth it. Maybe if you play it the right way, the low armored one will do fine. zztophat's build is the only 1 viable and possible (maybe with a lower engine and standard heat sinks, but that's about all you're gonna get (armor-wise and ammo-wise)

How did you achieve this? I hit a decent balance around that level but with only 4 tons of ammo...

I had one. The ONLY way your gonna make it work is with an xl 225 engine, and single heat sinks to save room. But yeah like someone else I had 8 tons of ammo and jack all for armor. Kinda fun, but had too many matches where I died before really getting anything done. Good for trolling tho. I doubt we will ever see another mech regardless of weight that can carry 4 of them. You would need either a mech with a balistic in each arm and torso, or a 75 ton mech with no lower arm actuators or hand actuators, none of which have been announced so far anyway.

Wait for the clan ultra 2s and 20s. Now those should be just silly. Also LOL clans ever.

To borrow a quote from Wargames, "The only way to win is not to play."

In other words these sound good on paper but are awful in execution.

If someone can answer my riddle correctly, I will post my 4x ultra jager build.

If the dog ate the cat, the cat ate the mouse, and the mouse ate the cheese then who ate the dog?

4uac on a jager is not survivable at all, dont bother. 3uac, 1 in one arm 2 in the other, is quite doable and I ran that for a while. I have since traded the 3uac for a 2uac, 2 ppc build that works really well too. I usually pummel them with the uac until one or both jams, then lob a ppc burst at them as I back off for cover and wait for the jam to clear. The 2 ppcs (er if you like) are really nice for taking shots at runners, especially at long range, so I can save my ammo for mechs that want to stand still and get chewed up.

CTF-4X

Enjoy the killz. Best build for the 4X, anything otherwise is a waste of a mech. Max speed, and firepower with plenty of protection (for a heavy). You can alpha fire for an AC20 or chain fire for a never ending never jamming AC5 MG. Melts illyas in seconds, even tho they have a high sustained DPS with 3 UAC (13 vs your 9), they jam, you do not

You can mount 4 UAC5's on that tiny thing?
