I found the lighting on the forest colony level to be very disappointing. I am all up for making levels with different times of day. But what should be in my mind one of the better looking environments to have giant stompy mech frolicking party in. A lush unspoiled piece of nature. Is to me the most depressing looking level in the game.

Awe look at this beautiful un touched piece of nature that the various gods of this mech universe undoubtedly had a direct hand in creating. LETS WRECK IT!

As far as game modes go. There seems to be a very distinct lack of variety. O I am sure there are a few more planned. But what I would love to see is a more of a longer term fight. Maybe something that could mix in a little bit of a dota style of play. Here is what I am thinking.

The map has 6 well defended installations. Each of the two teams owns 3. They come equipped with LRM sites. Heavy weapon installations of all shapes and sizes and plenty of anti missile bits. Basically one of these bases should have the fire power of a 100 ton mech but come with the hit points of 10 100 tons mechs. The idea is to kill all 3 of the enemy teams bases. Needless to say it will be a slaughter feast for a defending team.

Each of the 3 bases produces waves of AI controlled vehicles that comes with jamming hardware (along with a fair bit of fire power) that will disable the enemies base turret tracking. Simply put it creates a targeting black hole around the convoy. Any escorting friendly mechs can not be shot by the enemys base.

The idea is to get the convoy to the enemy's base and destroy it while stopping enemy convoys from getting to yours. This level will come with limited re spawn. You can pick any one of 3 mechs. Once one of your mechs are destroyed a air drop will being in your next mech. Victory conditions are to destroy all enemy`s or their bases.

I think they want forest colony to be foggy since its got that river valley kinda thing going for it. I'd imagine at some point we'll get a new map that is a sunny pseudo paradise.

I have no idea how it managed to post it twice.

Ok I get that maybe they are going for a look with the fog. But have other weather effects as well. The level is ok as far as levels go. It is just the lighting.

If you want to go for a foggy level then they should making something that is more like the Scottish highlands. Low levels of light with small spars bushes along the locks, punctuated with tall rocky outcrops piercing through the blanket like clouds. The momentary gaps in the cloud cover reveals the emerald green of the terrain below. But these splashes of colour is fleeting as the grey clouds over head quickly take back feeling of hope and piece that this terrain once held. Now it is just a grave yard of destroys hulking wrecks, littered between the type of scars on the terrain that only war could leave behind.

If they do fog correctly they could very easily craft a beautiful sadness into the level. But in the case of forest colony. It just does not work.

Lets argue taste!! RAAWR! lol :-P
