They two choices. They could make it so that no matter how much you play, the MC you earn does not pay for the premium time.

Or, they could make it so you could "make MC" meaning after premium each month, you have gained MC. Assuming there are ways to gift MC, CB, or equipment to others or your clan, then the farming will be out of control.

* I am glad to hear and support the lesser charging for CW. I had fully expected there to be costs involved with setup and operations of a unit. As a matter of the CW units, how do you plan to handle Merc, House and Clan units? Are they to be similar, exactly the same, or completely different in how they are operated?

I have a few other area's I would like to know more about, and/or have suggestions to be pondered.

** Hero Mech skin color changes, I have heard that this is slated to come. I realize its minor issue, but it also sounds like a small and simple thing that would help to quell the masses.
** Custom Skins: I know I have asked my unit and many have stated they would be willing to pay a reasonable micro transaction (MC) cost for a custom skin pattern. This could be implemented similarly to how PC GAMER released their custom skin thus allowing it to be controlled and released only by the unit in charge of the skin, then the member would pay MC to apply it per mech, or mech chassis. All would also understand that such skins will have to be approved by the Dev's of course before being released.
** 3rd Person perspective: You asked how this could be implemented. I believe the issue that was the argument supporting adding this was that some players get turned around in the heat of battle, or have a hard time figuring out what their mech is doing in relation to what they think it should be doing. The Training Grounds would be fabulous for a 3rd Person view. There is no combat there that matters in CW and it would get those pilots the needed training to understand how their mech works. What say you?
** Collision and the Repair & Rearm were removed from the game some time ago. Do you intend on restoring them, and if so will there be changes to how they operate?

I knew there were more questions I had, however my ADD squirrels have ran off with my memories again. Maybe its the late hour and lack of sleep in which I am writing this, but that and the lost inquiries will have to wait for another time. As I have stopped being a "forum troll" I will have some of my pilots of 1stGhost keep tabs to see if these were answered. They are more active in this respect than I.

Seriously though, people making physical threats towards the devs is just asinine. There just is not any acceptable excuse for it.

For anyone who is truly unhappy with whatever ends up being the offering... do the mature thing and vote with your wallet/feet. Feel free to post an "I'm done with MWO, and here's why" message in whatever appears to be the most appropriate forum on your way out the door, if it will make you feel better. Just keep in mind that it will be more likely to contribute to better decisions/direction if you keep it civil. If you call the devs names, question their lineage, or attribute illicit motives to them in your post... guess how much attention/weight they'll give your opinion/thoughts at that point? I can assure you, basic human nature will lead them to not miss your money enough to want you back. Keep it classy and well reasoned, and it just may have an impact if enough other people see it your way.

As for what is coming down the pipe... I hope the devs choose wisely. The 3PV (Third Person View), Community Warfare, and Private matches access are all important, and each one could potentially cause a sizable exodus of players if not handled properly.

I'd rather see "COMMUNITY WARFARE CLARITY (3rd person / 1st person)" myself.

As in, in order to keep the "1st person view will never have to play with 3rd person view people" promise which has been given there will need to be a 1st person CW and a 3rd person CW - is this the case?

I am of the view that that promise was probably done in haste to preemptively appease the usual suspects ( :rolleyes: ). As such, I'm not treating that promise as sacrosanct. I'm sure you already know why I say so.

But sure, clarity from PGI on the subject will be much appreciated.

I'm of the view it took them longer than it should have to come out with that 'promise'. The announcing of 3PV was a huge marketing blunder, and a severe break in trust with the community. The apparent 'circle the wagons' approach that occurred during the interim did not put them in a good light.

Not only were those 'usual suspects' breaking out the pitchforks and lighting the torches, they clearly stated why it would be a bad idea to mix 3PV players in with 1PV.

Clarity from PGI would indeed be appreciated. But better yet, would be resolution.

All PGI wants is (DA MONEY)and they don't want any feedback from the new or old communities there web rating is like -50 on liking the game or the direction it is going that's why they have split the forums up so much there afraid of there player base and all the positive or negative feedback. I personally think PGI is just milking out the MechWarrior community till they quit paying then they will dump the servers and the players and fans. Im sorry but the game just plain sucks its to repetitive and boring and there is no chat lobby's or private matches so best advise just move on to a funner game.

That is what every online game, or game with online multiplayer, has done...ever.

Out of thegames i've played that are still in development the dev's here have been by far the most responsive. Not to white knight, but everyone is very open about the bugs and limitations present in this game. If you don't like it don't pay, or offer constructive criticism, etc. They shut down GD because it wasn't useful, and hadn't been in a long time.

Unfortunately repeating half truths, conspiracies, ad-hominem attacks, and all the rest doesn't help develop a winning game, or offer useful feed back. The new format will see less traffic, and be far less entertaining, but it will be more useful. There is a place to discuss everything you could in GD, just maybe it won't descend into an incestuousness doom-saying circle-jerk of uselessness now.

Though it probably still will...

Originally we were going to get two different kinds of CW. One where player would be working directly for a Noble House and fight in randoms battle against rival house and another with player controlled merc companies bidding on contracts to fight for planets in the Periphery states. Is this still the plan?

3rd Person view players don't deserve to take part in community warfare. After all, they are too stupid to know which way their torso twists which is why this garbage is being put in the game. Unless that's a lie too.

FYI Planetside is run by SoE. Not the best example of a company who care about their customers. ;)

As someone said earlier in the thread, if PGI are adding 3rd person because some people are too stupid to even be able to work out which way their legs are facing - I DO NOT WANT THEM IN CW WITH ME!

How could they possibly hope to compete with competent players?

During the time this thread has been silent, it appears that the devs are intent upon putting the 3PV players into the same CW universe as the 1PV players are in.

If that is how it pans out, how will it work when a 1PV playing team attacks a planet/asset that is being defended by a 3PV playing team? How about vice versa?

True to their word you will not be "forced" to fight them, you have the choice of surrendering your planet instead.
