I have a very lousy kill-death ratio. (0.45 I guess thats terrible, since its highlighted in red.)
I'm a legendary founder, and I am trying to join a Kurita House team, I am grinding away at leveling my mechs. (13) I have a complete set of catapults leveled to elite, all my spiders are up to full master level, and now I am working on Atlas mechs. I've gotten a lot better as time progresses but since I sucked terribly at the beginning, its a glacial climb to improve my stats, slower than a stock atlas hiking across alpine peaks.

QUESTION: Will they be resetting the statistics once the game comes out of beta?

I posted my stats below for your amusement, useful critiques welcomed, snarky troll bait will be fired out the business end of my AC/20. My biggest problem is I am often the first to die. I am trying to play more cautiously and let others engage first, so I can react to what they are doing rather than serving as a warning to my teammates. I suspect once I finish grinding and stick with my fav mech designs, my stats will improve too. I'm fifty, but I would think what I have lost in twitch response in game is made up by tactics and experience from playing most of the old mech games. (especially MW2 and Mechforce on the AMIGA computer).
Anyway, here are my stats, be gentle...

Base Statistics

Name Value
MechWarrior Credits 1,287

Kills / Death 232 / 513

C-Bills 3,562,976

Experience Points 530,465

Wins / Losses 496 / 450

Kill / Death Ratio 0.45

Accumulative C-Bills Per Match 130,695.13

Avg. XP Per Match 560.75

Your W:L ratio says you're contributing to your team either way. K/D spread is just a matter of last hits. Doesn't cover damage done per round, or your overall contribution.

My K:D ratio is much higher than yours yet your XP per match is almost higher than mine. I tend to get lucky with last hits and that's probably the only difference. I'd say you're doing just fine.

I'd also bet if they reset stats they would reset everything - which would push a lot of beta players right out of the game due to its grindy nature so I doubt they will be doing that.

They called for a stat wipe, purchases will not be reset. That was the last I heard.

When they add in 'Achievements' there will be a stat reset. So don't fret about your stats.

Any unit worth joining will not ask your KDR.

Lifetime stats such as we have are meaningless.

I believe there is a reset when achievements come. I'm not sure about that.

I notice that you are winning more than you are losing, so even if you are not actually scoring the killing blow you are still doing something correctly more often than not. Maybe you're that guy who sacrifices himself so the enemy doesn't get a cap win. Or the squirrel who doesn't get the kill, but is so bothersome it wins the game because their heavy hitters aren't swatting your team's heavy hitters. Or you're just unlucky at putting in the last shot. I wouldn't know. But I do know that I would not worry too much about the K/D ratio since it is not also paired with constant losses.

edit: I see lots of other posters beat me to it.

As stated already, stat wipe when Achievements are put in, stats being your KDR, WLR and so on, your xp and purchases with cbills or MC won't be touched.

And your stats, look pretty good to me, you obviously contribute to the team as your xp per drop is respectable and your WLR is positive.

Any unit that demands a high KDR is a unit to avoid, this isn't a 1v1 game, it's a team game, and sometimes you literally have to take one for the team to pull out a win without getting a kill, or your function isn't such that you'll get many kills. I've gone more then a few games where my damage output was well over 1k without a single kill, but the 8 assists I had mean more then a single kill.

The Frontier Rangers expects members to maintian a 10-1 Kill Ratio. That's because my Kill Ratio is 1-10 !

I kind of hope they don't wipe it because of my decent stats. But others here are correct. Your aim should be having your team win, no amount of stats can quantify what it is we do in mechwarrior that creates success on the battlefield. How many times have I sacrificed myself in my Atlas to ensure the team's victory? The answer is, a lot. Or I do massive amounts of damage and get no kills. Either way, as long as the winnings good...
