I'm going to take my 4X out for a 4-mg only spin for, say, ten matches and get back to everyone.

Why even bother posting damage numbers? PGI knows they're low... because they're supposed to be low.

Want to prove something needs a change? Compare them to ML for crit seeking on a section of mech with stripped armor. If it isn't popping all the internals quicker, then it needs a boost.

I doubt they're going to invest heavily in weapon balance until they have state rewind in for all weapons and so on.

Like we were supposed to have direct X 11 back in october last year?

The difference being we actually have state rewind for 1 out of 3 weapon types.

If that were true losing your side torso wouldn't kill mechs with XL.
Last reported damage being "damaged by mg" followed by autocannon ammo exploded, cause of death: Engine Destroyed. Call it what you will. Mgs hit my naked right torso, mech go boom. Game over.

Well, I discovered the local Starbucks here in Mexico leaves their WiFi on all night. So when the fight for bandwidth clears a bit, I'll have to jump on with my mostly stock K2, and get some stats. Haven't run my SparkCat since they started tracking. Will set them on their own trigger for crit seeking trials. Hell, I'll try the crits in training grounds and get back to you on it.

Critical seekers only work if all items have 1 HP, and if you ever get a critical hit on the item, it's broken.

That would make Machine Guns extremely good at breaking items.

The problem is that since weapon damage is a factor into the critical hit table, trying to take out a item now takes multiple hits to kill an item.

If you have a 10 HP item, and machine guns deal 0.5 per critical, you have to hit that item 20 times. And if that item is hidden well (say 1/12 chance to hit for the best), that means you have to do 240 critical hits to do 20 points of damage to an item that is 1 critical slot large among a full area at 10HP.

If the 1 critical slot item had 1 HP, then it would only take 12 critical hits to kill the item.

Heh, I always apologize to my team in advance when testing a crappy build as well. Sometimes my teammates even shoot me when I say it, apparently they are attempting to put me out of my misery.

I have to say though, 434 points of armor make me survive painfully long in these "brawls".

Not to mention that your opponents see your weapons load out and are immediately more concerned by the DPS of your AFK teammate.
