So I'm been looking at builds for the Gausscat and it said to install the XL 265, but in all the builds it's from old patches and the current XL 265 is too big to fit. Is there any way to make this build? Is it a matter of even less armor? Anyone have a current build that works?

You should be able to fit an engine that size no problem, and could probably fit a bigger one if you wanted to. Do you have Endo Steel?

Here's a quick example of a gausskitty build, don't really think it's optimal tho:

The center torso only has 8 slots available due to the gyro, all XL engines are 12 slots. I do have Endo-Steel.

Xl engines use 6 slots in the CT, and 3 slots in each side torso.

Oh, gotcha. The XL engine's thing is that it takes up 6 slots in your CT, 3 slots in your RT, and 3 slots in your LT. The main disadvantage of an XL is that if you lose a side torso, you lose the robot. You can generally get away with this in a Catapult because of its small side torsos, but it's definitely risky to put a potentially explosive Gauss Rifle in there with an XL engine.

If you want a lower-risk version of the same thing, you can build an Ilya or Jagermech to carry 2xGauss in the arms with an XL.

Oh man, I didn't see that you needed 3 on each side. That makes so much more sense. Thank you gents. I think I figured everything out now. Cheers!
