ammo weight is too high.
i always end up with half a ton left and ballistic slots and nothing i can take.
MG shouldnt have its damage buffed, its not ment to kill mechs
MG would be fine if
a:) MG comes with a "free" built in ton of ammo.
allowing you to spend only a half ton and get 2000 rounds.
or
b:) lower the weight of MG ammo to half a ton.
so that 1 ton buys you a MG and 2k rounds (still weaker then small lazer)
in MW4 mektekk packs *light machine guns were very useful because they had a very long range and low weight. , regular and heavy machine guns were trash.

i like it how it is. works great for mechs with 4-6 MG's.
So 4 weapons dealing 0.304 dps each (they're bugged and don't shoot 10 shots per second) barely equaling a small laser assuming you can hold the guns on someone is "great" ?
I'm going to need you to pee in this cup and wait for the lab results before operating any heavy machinery or returning to work.

The problem with MGs is they're only good for critting out components, and critting out components is fairly worthless as a goal when most mechs carry their arsenal across several components and crits can't actually kill anyone barring ammo explosions (which only happen 10% of the time apparently).

Half-ton MG ammo bins would be amazing.

I like how you came to the conclusion their only problem was ammo weight....
Do you enjoy having mechs that take minutes to do the same damage a mech with a similar tonnage in lasers can do it in 10 seconds?

A few patches ago MG were dealing massively increased multipliers by mistake for critical damage. It was hard to tell they were even doing damage during that period. But now it reminds me of this one game where 6 mechs were shooting at a Raven for at least 3 minutes before he went down as the last man standing. Shooting MG at the enemy is about as effective as shooting at the old lag shielded light mechs.

We have to consolidate all the threads on Machine Gun feedback because there's too many of them at present. Please continue here.
