A lot of Leftists and Liberals will disrespect US Soldiers outright as murderers and "baby-killers". But you ask them about Native American "Warriors" or Communist "Soldiers"/"Revolutionaries" and their eyes light up. Everyone recognizes the importance of those who risk their lives on a military force, and usually when they do not admit it they are doing so for ideological/political reasons as part of a strategy. I don't think any of them realize just how much would go down if the US actually fell. Right now a lot of groups are acting like the best of friends because they have one thing in common and only one thing in common- they hate the US and think without the US there would be Utopia. As soon as the US fell, they would be at each others throats. North Korea vs. Iran, India vs Pakistan, Russia vs China. Europe vs African Union.

And of course after the US is gone as a Super-Power ALL people will talk about is the Golden Age when the United States kept World Peace and Stability and everything was perfect. This will not be true of course, we hardly have world peace in our current system, and there is so much instability and so many problems, but if the US fell from grace you can bet that's how the majority will tell the story.

Wha-...
I'm calling Poe's law on this. I honestly can't tell if this is just a terrible troll or an insane case of American Exceptionalism. Seriously, this went past the crazy-horizon and kept accelerating. The assumptions and arguments you've made are incredibly ill advised.
I'm Canadian, I have a Liberal bias, and I have nothing but respect for the men and women in the armed forces. Hell, I'm even looking in to joining.

You have to realize that, as the world's last super-power the politics of our nation get extreme and intricate. Half the times I cannot even understand the rules of it. There are organizations here doing things totally and utterly insane, probably, from your perspective. Example- We have Left Wing Parties promoting Right-Wing Parties. The rationale- If you give the Right-Wing/Fanatics enough support and power, and suppress the Left enough, they will drive the country into dysfunction and economic collapse (aka "Rope a Dope", aka "Use the enemy's strength to defeat them." ) . Also at the end of this, the Left-Wing will be purified and United and homogenous--since the Right-Wing state has eliminated, in survival of the fittest fashion, all weak/foolish/overly idealistic left-wingers/liberals (only Disciplined "Steeled" Parties will remain to claim leadership) , whereas the enemy will be fat and weak (this is especially true for the Sparts). Some involved in this are Communist and some extreme animal rights activists who are waiting for the feds to collapse so they can raid factory farms to set the animals free.
We have Parties so extreme, politics so extreme and sophisticated you cannot imagine. It is better then fictional conspiracy theories, and many even use conspiracy theory culture as part of their strategy to bring down the system via misinformation while status quo officials also like to use Conspiracy Theory to confuse the masses "Religions are seen by the people as equally true, by philosophers as equally false and by rulers as equally useful. "
You have to know, intuitively, at some level a Super-Powerful nation will attract all types. And many of these types try to denigrate the US military, isolate them culturally and politically, as part of a campaign. The most rational- to split and use as a tool against the Federal Government (aka the Sparts, who explicitly state this over and over again as part of their "strategy" but do not get arrested for this for some reason, probably because they have more support then the average person would suspect despite how loony their ideas are on analysis).
The US is the most powerful country the world has ever seen. This means there will be a lot of strangeness.

Seriously, do you even have one credible source for all of this?
American politics isn't that complicated with the realization that what's "Liberal" in America is still extremely "Conservative" in most other parts of the world. It's less 'intricate' and more 'insane'. It only looks intricate or complex because it makes no sense, and making no sense doesn't automatically make it complex. It isn't just the American government that's full of twits, every government has it's fair share. It's just that both Democrats and Republicans have way too many incompetent people in positions of power.
America is an empire run by fools, which will eventually collapse upon itself. And I wouldn't call America "the most powerful country the world has ever seen", that's much more a matter of opinion and what aspects you look at. It ranks among them (think the Romans, Greeks, the Mongols, etc.), but the top spot is up for debate, and I'm more inclined to give it to the Mongolian Empire. Guns and nukes don't automatically mean power.
