;)

Yeah its almost time for an upgrade..

Still, comes through with some alright shots though, its amazing though the difference. A few guys i run with have even older cards and they were pretty stunned with how the images could turn out.

For MWO though it does the job nicely, i can run at full settings and thats all that matters :)

(Although it would be awesome being able to pull out screenies as awesome as the ones you have been posting)

Just remember, you can always overclock, just so long as you have the thermal headroom.

Dropbox updated.

First batch of new pictures using new program. (still learning) now is the best time to critique me.

Not going to lie, the clarity and sharpness of those pictures is outstanding.

^Really nice shots, love the ones in Canyon!

I said I'd post some from my own collection the other day, so here's a batch ;). All screenshots originally taken at 3360x2100 using SweetFX only for the SMAA. I then downsample them to 1920x1200 in Photoshop.

Really nice pictures. To remove the motion blur on the first image, though, you'd have to play with Post Processing turned off. Thanks for the spoiler too. When I clicked on it my computer went sluggish loading the pictures.

Edit: N/m. That's partly the missile impact blur.

Ok so i have the 6950, anyone know where post processing can be turned off? I have looked on the catalyst control panel and cant seem to find an option, idk if it is an option?!

Also, how do you get screenshots at a higher res? I assume this is just down to the program capturing the images?

The resolution in the options menu maxes out at 1920 x 1080?

And for PP i realised my derp... :P ;) :( :( :(

They're creating "fake" resolutions with the graphics cards; a bit beyond what you might be able to do possibly. I know mine can't do it.

It's under the advanced options, where you can find details for objects, terrain, texture quality, etc., etc., etc.

I don't do screenshots and don't have external programs to do anti-aliasing for me, so I haven't got much reason to turn it off for myself; motion blur looks decent on videos.

The technique is called Downsampling, achieved via creating a custom resolution in your driver panel.
I have been playing around with this since GTA4 and the infamous ENB-modifications.
Easier to achieve on NV cards than on ATI IIRC (could be totally wrong here, my HD5850 has long gone into my mother´s machine), because you need no monitor timing hacks and such stuff.

For NV cards:
Step 1: Open up NV Control Center
Step 2: Head to Resolution
Step 3: Click "Customize" (this should open up another window, showing all the available resolutions)
Step 4: Click "Create user specific resolution"
Step 5: Check box saying "Activate resolutions that are not available on your display"
Step 6: Create a resolution that is either: 1.5/2/2.5/3 ... times the resolution of your monitor

*You will need to fiddle around at Step 6 a bit, since monitors differ from each other and one might accept higher resolutions than the exact model your brother/mate/... has.
Note, if your techsavvy or patient, you can further tweak your custom resolutions playing around with the timings and all the other options given*

Note :
If your display does not want to accept your new custom resolution it might happen that you are being left with a black screen because the driver has difficulties reverting back to normal.
DONT PANIC here, do a reboot and your standard resolution should be back again.

Sorry that I am not able to help out all the ATI guys, but I dont really wanna travel 18 km on my bicycle just to play around on my mother´s PC which might make my stepfather go apeshit-mental, because of techwar between my brother, me and the aforemetioned only because he keeps installing useless "Administration" (spyware nothing else) tools (read as: effing *****) on a machine that my brother and me had perfectly setup for Ma as a working/gaming rig last Christmas as a proper gift from grateful sons.

Have at it torturing your rigs !

Edit for great justice :

Fiddled around a bit right now and found out my BenQ XL2420T can even stomach
3840x2160 (DS2x) at rounded 44Hz (43.7, but driver rounds up there, dont know why) while DS1,5 (2880x1620) runs at 60Hz.
Ahhh, I can smell the hot circuitry already ^^

I have to admit - I was playing the other morning and saw you on the other team (a Cat K2, PPCs and a UAC/5 I think) and was hoping I'd get to see my blue and yellow Wang show up in this thread. A guy can dream, right? :)

Step by step broken down for what I do.

(I will look into AMD(ATI) cards at a later date, I have an APU to mess with)

Step 1: Using a capture program of choice, I use MSI Afterburner it is almost NO impact, and is a powerfull overclocking/capture program, I like to shoot in PNG @ 100% for best image quality, this results in high file size however.
Posted Image

Step 2: Set motion blur to off in user config.
Posted Image

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Steps 3-4 Applies to Nvidia only
Step 3: Creat custom resolution for downsampleing images.
Posted Image

Posted Image

Set resolution in MWO
Posted Image

Step 4: AA and driver tweeks.
Posted Image

The use of Nvidia Inspector is recomended, while NVidia Control Pannel offers some settings to play with, Nvidia Inspector gives much more controle, as well as settings to adjust.
Posted Image

Step 5: Find your images, convert them to JPG (for file size reasons) shrink them to whatever resolution you want and touch em up if you feel like it using which ever program you want.
Note: @ 3072x1920 pictures are often 10mb a peice. I only uploaded the 2880x1800 pics after bringing them down to ~1.4mb ea

Other than the texture quality, it actually doesn't look that different from medium and very high (since most stuff above medium doesn't actually work; low spec optimizations have been the priority).
