Have you watched the launch event's tournaments? They have this. Apparently it's only available on private versions of the game. It appears that they have it for recording the hero vids, too.

Which raises the question of "why cant we have it?", I'm sure that would put a dent in people complaining about the game if half of them were busy making screenshot archives and montages.

Unfair advantage during fights. What if at any time I could press a button, leave my cockpit and fly around to see where the enemy is? Because that's what they were doing during that broadcast, literally leaving their cockpits and flying.

More accurately, leaving the cockpit that they were speculating. But I see the exploit potential of having an extra player with you on Teamspeak while they spectate your current match and relay information. Prevention there might be to limit player use to concluded and recorded matches.

I dont think we were on the same page lol, I was referring to a cinema mode, where you can view the match you just played after you played it. Like in Halo, and I believe even Call of Duty does it now, they keep your like 5-10 most recent matches saved on a cloud that you can go and watch it. I agree about not having it in a live match, but thats not at all what I was suggesting.

Perhaps they could record a match's data and re-run the data through a game simulator, where we can fly around and take whatever shots we want.

That's on the Dev wishlist. But it's so bottom of the barrel that we'd be more likely to see lore-proper ACs (which the devs have blatantly said no to several times) before we see that.

Edit: Proper lore ACs fire in 3 ways.

If I could get an image storage account I'd upload some images I took/touched up in GIMP.

And on the topic of match recording:

So here is how I would write that program:
I would have it ta a 'snapshot' of all coordinates of the Mechs, along with which user/player slot/mech he/she was using in sync with the FPS rate of your GPU. Then it renders a file of the map and Mechs after the match. No advantage because all the text is is mumbo jumbo coordinates.

They had the coordinates shown when you looked at the framerates - people decoded the 'mumbo jumbo' and found ways to abuse it.

All you can do with the FPS coords is get more accurate data on you/your ally. 37 updates per second would like like this:
Spoiler

^That would be like one frame or so
EDIT: Assuming your FPS is 37, like mine
