In the hustle of this modern world, the bustle of all that is going on with this game, let us all try to be a little less...well, extreme, to put it one way. E3 is ongoing, while Beta is cranking up, and the forums are going crazy. New people and new topics are popping up faster than a Cicada can run. So a few suggestions.

1. Anything you want to talk about probably has ten topics started on it. Please invest a little time with the search function before starting a new topic.

2. Just because you are very well-versed in the topic is no reason to be rude to those less knowledgeable than yourself, so if they seem a little less-informed than you, then use some common courtesy in helping them to enlightenment.

3.Refrain from "gossiping", as I call it. You know, when people state something that they know to be true, even though it is just their's or some other forum posters' opinion. If you are going to state something as a fact, be prepared to point to a dev's post, or some other proof of what you are stating.

4. and on and on and on infinitum..... What I am asking for at this point is a little common courtesy and common sense. Pretend the others on the Forums are children you feel protective towards, even when they are a little rude.

Also, I feel for the Community Moderators, they have to be working triple hard to help guide, and help keep a lid on things around here. Make their job a little easier, by not making their job harder. And a pleasant experience for new people on the Forums translates to a successful, fun game FOR ALL OF US, for years to come. Hats off to you guys for the awesome job you are undertaking for the foreseeable future. Good luck to you, God Bless, and God Speed.

Well, it's clear that people can't read the old posts. Maybe he's just covering his bases... OP, I agree with your sentiment, but I'm less optimistic at the message getting through to the masses. ;)

I don't think this would be as much of a problem if everyone had read the stickied topics...
Then again, who am I to talk, I didn't read them either! lol

Not everyone wants to dig through 10 pages of topics or search an old topic only to be railed against because they "necor'd" an old thread.

Damned if you do.
Damned if you....OH god a mech stepped on my face...*squish*

Wild speculation seems what most people only have to go on. Personally I like the more supported arguments that occasionally happen here, those are by far the best. As long as we dont talk about Clans or F2P we can avoid many issues... ;)

Seriously, right? I mean idjits who won't read stickies which say Start Here First!! are not the kind of people (and I use the term loosely) who will read Don't start a topic w/o research first threads.

Not to pick on you panzerbunny but the phrase "just saying" is getting about as irritating as "don't worry be happy". If you don't remember that one go say it a dozen times to your parents. You'll understand quickly.

If you don't want to post in a cloned topic then don't do it. It's the way of things with forums though. No sense in yelling at newcomers over it. It can be intimidating to scroll through months or years of back-topics.

Isn't that why they have a search function and stickies?

Also if you (the generic you) doesn't like to read, then why are you on a forum?

**edit** Just sayin'

*PS* Sorry Toothman...had to do it ;)

I pointed out to a guy that ballistics aren't just the weight of the gun itself, but have to include at LEAST one 'hidden' ton and crit for ammo and maybe even CASE.

He launched into a psychotic rant about how anyone who uses CASE sucks at this game and completely ignored the whole tonnage issue.

What the **** is wrong with some of these people? Is Battletech synonymous with (Removed)?

Edited by Mason Grimm, 04 June 2012 - 04:07 AM.
Please refrain from using diseases or medical conditions as an adjective for battletech and MWO posters. People get offended.
