Are we looking at mindless matchmaking or will we hopefully have a game that suits the palates of a more mature audience. Those who have been following the genre for decades...

Will we have supply routes that need maintaining? Linking to ongoing battlefields which has more depth than the MW2 galactic universe and terrible means in taking territory?
This would make strategic attacks onto an industrial planet key as you target their mech warehouses and storage facilities, possibly bringing some swag home with you....

Is something like WW2 Online out of the question or even some of the elements which would work very well on a reduced scale?

Can we hope in gaining advantages from signing on with a House instead of a merc outfit in regards to infantry and tank support which can be controlled by giving commands from you and your lance mates?

Call in Aerospace fighter missions to dive on the battlefield?

Call in off board artillery strikes?

Sink some of your "points" into certain strategic planets/cities so that NPC defenses are more advanced and ready for attack by the enemy.....

I think everyone has a difference vision of what we'd like to see, but I'm assuming most of us don't want to see a MW arcade style rehash without much pull to keep people engaged with the game.

cheers

I'd like to see the following modes:
Team deathmatch - This is pretty standard in any online game, although it would be difficult to justify in any lore terms. Groups didn't just randomly get together and fight for no reason. Having the only goal being the destruction of the other team is pretty bland.

Capture the flag - Another standard online game type, although again, I'm not sure how you would justify it in lore terms. Mechs aren't really designed to run in, steal something, and run away. I had a ton of fun playing this in MW4 and really hope it makes a return, but I'm not holding my breath.

Assault/defend the base - Probably the most crucial mode that would fit their stated vision for the game. Assault or defend a planetary base to capture the planet for your faction.

Some kind of control point battle - A little different from assault/defend, this mode would allow both sides to capture points. After control points are held for a certain amount of time, the game would end and planet control would shift.

1v1 arena - Gladiatorial combat, ala Solaris. It would hopefully have smaller maps.

That would be the arcade quick game play style.

I'm curious if that will be the extent of what we'll receive or a game which may have gran tactical elements of supply, control and depth. Not something as lofty as a strategic SIM, but something more than mindless blast fests. Solaris would be a good place to keep that kind of game play whilst exploring persistent battlefields for control of a planet.
