So, been bugging me for a while, but I would really like to be able to have 1 button press keys for 1/3 throttle, 2/3 throttle, full throttle ... as well as full back.

I don't think this is available stock, so I am guessing some sort of macro? Like one where I say 2/3 and it hits full stop, then increments the throttle up X times?

Also, along those same lines, I don't like the linear way night vision / thermal vision works. I would rather program 1 key that would cycle the 3 ... ie: normal -> heat -> night -> normal -> heat -> night.

ie: if I am in heat vision, hit the button one, and I get night ... hit it twice, and I am back to normal.

I don't think this one is possible because it would require a macro to be state aware :-(

How about you use your Numpad?

1) I was not aware that the numpad had a 1/3 or 2/3 option ... does it?
2) I really don't want to move either of my hands that far.

From Patch 1.2.204 Notes:

Quote

New Controls

- Added Arm Lock gameplay option (ON by default):
- When Arm Lock is enabled, the arm reticule is fixed to the torso crosshairs and moves at the same rate as the torso.
- Added Throttle Decay gameplay option (ON by default). When Throttle Decay is enabled:
- Gameplay options can be enabled/disabled on the fly from the new in-game Options Screen.
- Pressing the ‘W’ key will sets the throttle to 100%.
- Pressing the ‘S’ key will sets the throttle to -100%.
- Releasing the ‘W’ and ‘S’ key sets the throttle to 0.
- Keyboard users can now use the NumPad to directly control throttle (using the 0-9, +, -, and . keys).
- New Bind: “F" - centers Feet to Torso.
- New Bind: “Shift” - toggles Arm Lock while held.
- Analog turn support for joysticks.

You can remap any key to your liking under options.

That doesn't seem like how it's operating now.

If I tap "w" my speed is not set to 100%

If I tap "s" my speed is not set to -100%

If I press and hold for a period of time, they set to that ... I am trying to avoid the "period of time" so there is no question.

I missed that one ... so I would presume that numpad_6 = 60%

Per the previously quoted patch notes, you need to enable throttle decay. It's under options.

.

Just WoW ... I asked if there was a key I could "tap" and not "hold" and you response with telling me to turn on throttle decay? Which "requires" you to "hold" the key or it goes back to zero?

Don't know what to say other then: Bad advice is Bad?

At the time I understood your chosen word "tap" to meant "pressing", but in hindsight I agree with you that was a mistake.

You can still achieve what you are trying to do by remapping the "9" key to "W" under options. Full reverse with one just keystroke might be a bit trickier. I think that'll require a programmable keyboard, but I'll update this thread if something comes to mind.
