Yeah, all the Hero mechs are absurdly over priced. The Heavy Metal is even worse in that you can't buy just one MC package to get it, you end up with at least 1k more MC then you need. Predatory pricing if I've ever seen it.

To top it off, the Highlander Hero isn't even that great due to limited hard point layout. Ah well...

Same, 10 bucks is at the extreme end of what I'd consider paying in any F2P. These are supposed to be Micro-Transactions, there's nothing micro about paying over half what a new AAA game costs.

Well, I suppose you sponges should be glad that there are those of us who do actually spend money to keep the game you love to hate afloat.

Sure, pay $30 for a "full game", play through it once, and never go back after you beat that final boss.

OR pay $30 for a mech and wreck face for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours...

You could always ask for a bigger allowance?

I reluctantly have to agree. I want one, but not at that price. Whole games cost not a whole lot more.

I bought a Hero X-5. I felt the $15 was about right, and that I wanted to send some money to the devs for the game I've been enjoying for the last couple of weeks.

They should offer the Atlas a monocle and charge $70 for it

You might consider stop buying games that suck.

Last I looked there was a $100 MC pack that got you 25,000 MC.
Definitely enough MC to buy anything in the game.

Oh, and yes the Hero mechs are overpriced.

If you do not intend to pay for premium time, and you do intend to play a Hero mech for hundreds of matches, they will typically earn extra bonus c-bills equivalent to their value in 100-200 rounds (depending on which hero mech you paid and how much cash you normally earn in a given round - it could take much longer if you're a slow earned or be over quicker if you tend to make the big bucks).

A single hero mech of a chassis type that you know you like is probably a good idea if you intend to play it a whole lot, since it will eventually earn you a good deal of income while you are already playing what you really enjoy.

I am thrilled with my Heavy Metal. I get more play time for that $27.00 than I get from a movie with my wife (which costs more). Of course I enjoy the movie, and the time with my wife, but then that evening is over and the next day I can still drop in my Highlander.

I am curious if you apply this 'logic' to the rest of your life? When you encounter something you think to be overpriced or in a state of economic imbalance do you immediately correct yourself and recognize yourself as a "hater" that is sponging off the the payment of real fans?
Does this mean you do not support the idea of voting with ones dollar? In your mind is it the case that we all must buy Hero Mechs to support MWO and no reasonable voice could object to the prices? Do you really think you are doing anyone a favor by purchasing a Hero Mech?
So many questions...

According to how many I see online, it appears a lot of people don't seem to agree with your sentiments.

and its good to see there are still egotistical full of themselves blowhards for us to kill in game.

just because someone thinks something is too expensive to spend their money on doesnt mean you are better than them just because you would/did. Also just because they wouldnt buy the hero mechs at their current prices doesnt mean they havnt spent money on the game nor does it mean they wouldnt buy them at all just not at their current prices.

so please grow up.

Last night a teammate made the comment: "Dang! You can't drop kick a Spider without hitting 4 Highlanders around here" (He did not use Dang!)

Comparing one overpriced form of entertainment to another is not a great argument. I think it's generally accepted that theater pricing is beyond a rip off for tickets alone, gods forbid you go to the snack stand.

That's what they're doing, except replace "monocle" with "hot pink" and "external speakers". I'm not a marketing person, but I imagine the spending demographic for a $30 hero mech is pretty similar to the demographic for a $70 mech.

And thanks a lot CCP, set the bar a little high didn't ya?

Same could be said for half of the hero mechs, yet they work surprisingly well anyway.
