With the nice pink color of the HGN-HM, one thing came to my mind, and I'll include well-known older one to go with it.

- 1 Free mech bay with hero mechs. I know, its probably been considered, and it might be better for marketing reasons to add an extra mech bay purchase as a hidden cost, but keeping the hero mech lower to compensate.

What I've been thinking:

- Allow users to get the custom colors the hero mechs have for free!!! Once you buy the hero mech with the hot pink, have it available in the unlocked colors. You don't need to do it with all 3 colors, only the main, "iconic" one.

Why is this good for PGI?

Comparison:

Lowering prices:
Pro
- Same Value for Less MC, more incentive to buy for cost conscious, first time buyers. We are talking 30-50% less, as a bit cheaper is not going to change the deal for people who find it absurdly high, and if they really want the mech, they're not gonna fuss on 10-20%.
Con
- Existing owners wouldn't be happy, and would think twice about buying a new hero mech("what stops them from making it cheaper again a month from now?").

Adding Value as in Post:
Pro
- Both existing and future buyers will have bigger chance of getting hero mechs, they'd be happy about the free paints and would want to get even more. New buyers would also be able to factor in the additional benefits, and have an easier time convincing themselves to make that first jump.
Con
- Fewer sales of some color categories? On the flip side, I believe once you obtained a color, getting more for MC feels much more natural since you cant say you never bought a color, it came with the package. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hinder sales, maybe even boost them as more catch on to coloring.

Any incentive to buy hero mechs is a good incentive.

And lets be honest, i probably wouldnt have normally purchased any of the hero mech colours so its not like PGI would be losing out on income by doing this... (from my perspective..)

Founder 'Mechs are permanent, requiring their own 'Mech Bay so that Founders still have the four free bays to start. The free 'Mech Bays were a part of the Founder package.

Hero 'Mechs are not permanent and can be sold, so they should never come with a 'Mech Bay.

As to the other part of your post...

I'm one of those who doesn't support changing the colors on Founder and Hero 'Mechs, so I don't really care whether the standard Hero colors are unlocked or not.

Upping the value?

What, that massive permanent Cbill increase isn't enough? You want a massage with a happy ending too? :(

I'd say quite the opposite. Look how it works in WoT - every premium tank comes with its own garage slot, even promotional tanks have them (you can aquire them by promo code, they low tier and not very powerfull, so you can sell them for money and have free garage slot). The way it is now hero mechs could as well cost 250MC more (or whatever the mechbay price is), as you need mechbays for them anyway. It's pretty much the same as with double heat sinks.
Not that I care about it, just saying.

I could care less about the cbills, I had 60m sitting before I got my hero mech.

That's why you make the Bay tied to the Hero Mech. If it is sold its Bay goes with it.

I'd be very glad if at least the mechbay slot would be included in the high prices
