Hey I'm pretty interested in the group, but I have a quick question. I'm new to the MechWarrior universe, and only played the old 90's games back when I was a kid, so I don't have much experience. I really want to get hardcore for this game though. Do you allow "Hardcore-in-training" to your practice sessions and such? I understand I probably won't be in an tournament or winning a contest anytime soon, but I'm pretty serious on getting on top of my game for MechWarrior, and I'm definitely not new to gaming in general. Even if you want to slap me and stick me in the casual corner, I'd probably still apply, and join hardcore once I get on their level lol.

Thanks ahead of time for responding!

AOD is not an elitist guild, and we accept members of all skill levels for any of our divisions. That being said, you hang with us awhile, and you will be come very proficient. I sent you our vent info to be inprocessed.

Welcome and good luck Adm Awesome. I would think that you would find tons of help to bring you up to speed in no time. After all this will be new to some extent for everyone. One thing to keep in mind, I wouldn't volunteer that anyone could stick you anywhere. Some of the peeps around here might make your there bit... well… let’s just say, permanent support staff.

As for me, if you have on the tags, you can stand proud at my side (down wind of course).

I am a fairly new member to AOD and it is great group of people to play with. Hardcore or casual gamers alike play together on pub matches and/or in clan wars. So don't feel because your level of gaming isn't high right now you aren't up to snuff. Remember none of us have even played MW:O yet. All of us are going to be going through a learning curve. Better to do that with a group of people with a common goal then doing that alone in pub matches.

I might consider it if the leadership is of a competitive mindset and certain reforms have been made.

I can say for sure that AOD has a very competitive mindset. We play to win.

On your other issue I would recommend you PM Wolvenhaven

Hailz good gentles of AOD!

Been lurking around the forums for a bit just signed up here and on your site. Definitely interested in joining up with you guys. I love the MechWarrior franchise and have been waiting forever for another title to come out so I am looking to be fairly competitive and hook up with a good group.

Oh and heres some music I feel is relevant:

I like the sound of your recruitment post and the look of your websites, always nice to join a community rather than a single game clan. I also play or have recently played WOT EVE SWTOR etc.

I consider myself a 'fair' gamer and enjoy the banter on voice as much as being competitive in game.

My only reservation is that I am UK based, although I can game into the wee hours say 1am gmt at a stretch, I was wondering if I would likely be logging off as the bulk of your guys log in ? ;) If not I'll gladly sign up if You'll have me

There is always some ppl online who aren't from the US, such as me, I'm from Finland. And I for one think it'd only be good if we got more ppl from everyplace else than the US, because that'd allow a around-the-clock presence in the game, as well as not limiting the gaming time of the people who are from other places than the US, when there'd always be some ppl around you could do a game with.

I'm not one to call the shots though, but that's my point of view on the matter, so just go ahead and sign up, time difference shouldn't stop you. :D

AOD has many members from Europe, including some in the MWO division. We will also have players on night and day at all hours. That being said, the majority of members are from the US, and therefore activity will lessen after midnight est.

We'd love to have you, and if you are interested, please fill out an app on our MWO section of the AOD forums. I'll then be able to send you our vent info to come into and we can inprocess you.

Be well.

Join up!

I'm from the UK myself, always good to have people from all corners of the globe - that way no matter what time you log in there is always someone on. Also makes it much much easier to defend anything you may have (such as a planet) as there will always be someone around to do so - or to attack those in less fortunate positions of only having players from one timezone :D Muhahaha. Bring on the C-Bills!

Well after recovering from last night(which surprisingly didn't involve alcohol in any way) and being 50ft from the mortars of a professional fireworks show, getting hit with falling debris, and knocked around from the explosions, and having a ton of fun, I think I now know why LRMs are so awesome.

Why, pretty much anything that sends 'splosives flying down range is awesome. Even a granny tossing a nade would be awesome.

Though, for different reasons than LRMs, arguably.
But would a gas-propelled granny with a grenade be considered a missile?
Doubt it'd be very long-range though.

Now, that's my brainfart of the day.

I hope so, I'd love to see him piloting a one armed Atlas that explodes and then magically turns into a Jenner.
