This may have been reported already, but I figured I may as well give it a go.

I am playing from Hamilton, Ontario: 11-12 ping on average. With the new patch I am getting frequent cases of my 'mech teleporting/jumping around, as if I had severe lag. My ping does not appear to spike that I can tell, and I have not experienced this before.
  • Happens 100% of matches played on Frozen City, and ~80% of matches played on Alpine peaks. Incidentally, I am also experiencing large amounts of missing textures/texture pop/texture flicker on these maps in particular, but that could be unrelated (also started this patch).
  • Happens infrequently on Caustic Valley and Forest Colony, and never on River City. Unsure about Desert.
  • Hardware specs: Win7 64, AMD Phenom Quad Core @ 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti (latest release drivers).
  • Again: Consistently very low ping (under 15)

Also experiencing similar issues usually have 41 ping and run without an issue this is then followed by spikes in ping of 100-150% occurs sporadically. Does not occur in every match I play but does not seemed to be limited to any particular map.

This issue only began occurring with the most recent patch. Though uncertain if this is the game or possible routing issues I am in atlantic canada my traffic probably takes a similiar route to the servers

Same thing has been happening to me with a ping of about 34. It has occurred sporadically in most of my matches. (I am on US East Coast.)

After playing a bit more, I'm finding it happening on all maps. It just seems much, much worse on Frozen City/Alpine Peaks for some reason. I actually almost TK'd some poor commando on my team today in Forest Colony because I teleported about 100m directly to the right.

Is there some way I can track and log my ping numbers while in-game? Some kind of tool? I've literally never experienced lag in MWO before and I'd like it to return to that way :D.

Still getting huge amounts of texture popping/flickering - it kind of seems that the worse the texture problems, the worse my teleporting is, but this again could just be coincidence since I really don't see how they could be related.

Im on the US East Coast as well, New Jersey actually, so my ping is no more than 100 at any point in time in MWO. However with this latest patch Im bouncing all over the place hot potato.

I believe at this point its a server issue since Ive been playing other games (TF2) just fine.

I decided to take a ping note every 30 seconds on the timer and here's my results.

0 sec - 44ms
30 sec - 65ms
1 min - 34ms
1 min 30 sec - 97ms
2 min - 164ms
2 min 30 sec - 132ms
3 min - 47ms
3 min 30 sec - 194ms
4 min - 39ms

No idea why, but before the patch my ping never bounced up or down more than 20ms, and my usual ping is about 60ms.

I think everyone is getting the warping, my ping is typically 25-50ms and I still get it. Really seems to be server side IMO.

Like me there are a lot of people having this problem. I have one complaint about these Forums, I very rarely see a response from anyone acknowledging that it is a patch or server problem. They just leave us scratching our heads about it. It would be very nice to know someone besides players are reading these posts. Not all of us playing are playing for free, some of us paid to play. And I think we deserve more information about problems when they come up. Isn't that why this is a Beta still, fix the problems and keep the players informed of what is happening?

Yes. I also have this problem. Waiting for PGI to acknowledge it and hopefully have it fixed. My premium time is running.

Over the weekend I saw a large number of lag spikes.

On just about all the maps. In each instance it was when we were up against a four man all Flame lance and were at ranges of <200m.

Not sure if there is something about the model/skin on the mech or if something else was going on.

Feels like some tweaking of the netcode happened in the last patch. Any packet loss or spike in ping causes a lot of warping around and delay of keys (weapons firing, thermal/NV on and off, zoom).

I think their networking code has become a lot less tolerant of errors. I was told in response to my support ticket to use an Ethernet cable instead of my wireless connection. I haven't had the lag or teleporting on the couple of hours of games I have played like that.

A month ago 4 of us played MWO at the same time using my wireless connection without any problems. Now I have to use an Ethernet cable and it is just me playing.

The response on the ticket was that they cannot guarantee their game will work over a wireless connection. No other feedback on anything constructive being done to resolve the problem.

wow...that's really lame....

Edit: I hope that's just something temporary...I mean if almost every online-game can handle wireless, why should mwo be the exception :P

I have also noticed my ping bouncing a lot. Normally its 80-110 here in my part of Sunny ol' England. But since last patch its 50-150! Aaaand it changes roughly every 30 seconds as another member said.

On a lighter side when my net connection glitched the other day and I bought some airtime on a nearby Wireless hotspot my ping dropped and general game response increased..... So either I had a crappyer dsl Line than I ever knew or despite the reported "low" signal strength, I now have the best wireless hotspot in England two doors down from me...

Venraa, The wireless/Ethernet suggestion is BS. I run wired at home and warp all the time. Guys I play with online use wireless and have no problems. They just need to fix what the messed up.

In Fla did not have this issue til I got m y new video card. First 20 matches was doing great. Now I rubber band badly when playing my spider mech. It needs to get fixed. I would also like the so called developers that want put world hurt on light mechs and remove them from game be required to play them in recorded matches and show them on the web. As it stands very soon everyone will refuse to play light mechs soon. Sorta like the LRM fix why waste valuable tonnage on weapon that gets tweaked down with any excuse while auto cannons and lasers get tweaked up to un godly levels. BTW before the LRM nay sayers open their mouths they need to have played the battletech minature board game at least 6 years. I have over 30 years experience with the game ever since it came out as Battledroids.

I'm also experiencing this. I live just south of Ottawa, Ontario and I typically have ping of 12-15ms (connected with Cogeco Cable.)

I have noticed rubberbanding (doesnt happen often). What happens often is that my guns dont seem to fire. I fire a group and nothing happens. Then 2-3 SECONDS later, my guns fire in my new current position.

I am on a ethernet cable, not wireless.

Same thing here, pings in the lower 20s normally yet I rubberband constantly on certain maps. Same thing that is happening to ******* with the weapons is happening with me too.

I have a strong feeling PGI isn't going to own up to its screw ups and just leave us hanging. I was considering buying different MC items to support PGI, but now after this extreme show of poor support and uncoming conduct it truly makes me wonder if they even care to address issues which many people are having.

New EA anyone?
