How about wait til the rest of them are released before having a "definitive assessment" of them being weak?

CTF has a jumps and has the better firepower, than a Highlinder. Do you know it? Highlinder has a ballistics of the 50 ton Hunchie mech - 1 Gauss or 2 AC5. This is funny.

Ok, for true RP'ers, this hero's variants is good, but they are useless, when you configure it for REAL battle. It has alot disadvantages. I need more flexibility in customisation of my mech.

So you accusing the Higlander to be a weak chassis because a couple of players using abusive cheese broken builds?
The Highlander, the Atlas, Orion and Dragon live and die at a balance build of using the right combination of Missile, Ballistic and Energy...when you ignore the missile hardpoints it is your choice.

I'm the owner of HM, clever man. There are just a few configs, that can be suitable for HM: 1gauss+2PPC's + jumps; 1Gauss + 3 LL (3 LPL). They are not bad, but firepower is still too low for 90 ton Assault.

So you choose a broken game design on a Shock n Awe Mech?

A couple of players??? You kidding? 80% trying to configure mechs for maximum firepower as it possible.

Oh didn't know that the game is allready that corrupted by the CoD faction
Jump Sniper with a Highlander? Really?
You should use a Drop Ship for Jump Sniping...only slightly bigger target size but more armor and weapons.
I don't have bought the Pink Thing yet...but i have a CTF-3D and never used it as Jump Sniper.
JUMP SNIPER.. that those words in combination isn't ROFL.. is a pitty that MWO was not capable of learning the leasson from MW4.
Serious... when the HGN-733C with AC 20 hit the deck...you will see me jumping from buildings and cliffs right into the rear or front of enemy mechs...and kill them in short brutal in fight.

You should have waited for the other Highlanders, before making this assessment.
1 variant does not dictate an entire chassis's existence. Otherwise, the Cicada-3C would make you think the Cicada is a complete unmitigated disaster.
Edit:
I plan to pilot a Highlander... but right now, I need to see the complete specs before I make my decision final. JJs on an Assault mech is noteworthy to me.

Oh yeah! 1 AC20 + 2 energy hard points + 2 missles hardpoints... right, this mech would be brutal force on battlefield. What a joke.

One that makes sense in regards to the design of the mech?
If not then GG

If you don't like the Highlander, don't pilot the Highlander. Simple as that.
And don't count on any kind of hardpoint change happening.

Hell the K2 can mount 2 Gauss and 4 PPCs.
So only choice to solve that problem is limiting the mechlab or undo every mechlab restriction.

Yep, because the Stalker and Highlander are suppose to be similar in their role and function and obviously more tonnage= MORE FIREPOWER!!1!!!11!
Seriously though, these are two separate mechs with separate functions: the Stalker was originally meant for increasing damage as it drew closer to its target (hence the name "Stalker") the downside for the Stalker was it was slow; didn't as much armor as other heavier, Assault mechs; It tends to overheat; and it could not mount any ballistics. The Highlander is meant to be a faster, more heavily armored Assault mech, that is suppose to have a blend of weapons to hit mechs with pinpoint precision. Oh, it was also a 90-ton mech with jump-jets.

Like Durant and others have said, we've only seen the Heavy Metal, not any other Highlanders, don't make assumptions based on one mech. And if you don't like it, don't pilot it, but if you're trying to compare Assault mech hardpoint layouts to only the Stalker, then you would be very disappointed in the hardpoints of all of the Atlas models because they only had 2 or 3 missile hardpoints, 1 or 2 ballistics, and 2-4 energy, compared to the Stalker, and of course *no one* pilots those mechs.

And K2 can't have 2 gauss and 4 ppc's.

I think he meant and/or.. but for emphasis, it does have firepower that can be exploited in some ways far greater than an Assault. It doesn't mean it's better than an Assault mech.
