It just so happens I have run across plenty of people running around scripting four or more ac2 to machine gun fire. While the ac2 is MUCH more effective in shredding armor if fired all at once in a group to the same pinpoint location, and there are far better weapons out there, I would like to try it just because rocking people like its a heavy metal concert can be fun too and i'm sure there are other people out there with the same sentiment even if its only as a novelty.

So if anyone has a copy and paste script and instructions with how to put it into the game file, now would be a good time to post it here!

Lets make it all for dakka and dakka for all.

p.s. if there is already a post on this I havent found it and the MWO forum search isnt working at all for me on any computer either logged in or as a guest. IDK what is wrong with it but hopefully either I figure it out or they fix it soon! I'm tired of searching and getting no results for anything ever.

The problem with that theory is that if you group them into one cluster then use chain fire you lose the speed. you end up with 6 uselessly slow ac2 on a very slow fragile mech.

thus, my request for anyone who has a script for it to be shared. After all I know its out there, I have seen 5ac2 build that runs relatively well firing off shot after shot like a damn machine gun.

maybe grouping them into three groups on chainfire and using a progressive (1,2,3,) mouseclick option would work but I'm still concerned about losing speed on the follow up shot with the chainfire because it is so slow to cycle to the next weapon.

You will have the same RoF with just 2 AC2s - so 4 of them are actually dead weight.

Make 2 or 3 weapon groups in chain fire and hold down all the buttons as once.

AC2 cycle time is half a second. Divide that by 6 you get .083 seconds. So macro one gun to fire every .083 seconds to get the desired machine gun effect.

Edit: if you run the much more viable 5xAC2 the spacing time would be .1 instead

I dont use a macro.

I have two weapon groups with a pair of AC2s in each of them. When I fire my weapons I press the fire button on one, wait a half second then press the second. Now the AC2 are constantly firing.

With 4 ac2's and 2 weapon groups you can be constantly chain firing with 2 in each group using mouse 1 and mouse 2.

Watch this video and I think you will get a much better idea of what I am going for. Watch the jagermech closely and listen to that fire rate.

I currently use a 5x ac2 setup yes it may seem overkill as I can achieve the same fire rate with only three ( I use a 1,2,3 mouseclick technique as Prezimonto mentioned a little. Four ac2 is dead weight but 5 are not. but I can also alpha every .5secs for 10 damage each time to one componet. And THAT my friends makes 5 ac2 worthwhile.

yes scripting keystrokes is not prohibited at all. I researched it thoroughly before ever posting this. There is an acceptable script to have your TAG laser always on as well you can find it in this same forum in the general section the same as this topic.

Here's a video i've made for testing from training ground with 6xAC2 and the script

The main problem with this high fire rating is that you overheat very quickly, especially when u on a map like Tourmaline or Caustic.

thank you Crashingmail! My hope is that people don't just use this for ballistics but also find some use for similar coding with lasers and missiles as well. (with a little adjustment of course)

Since you know how to do it could you please post a "how-to" along with a link or copy and paste script please? That's really what I'm aiming for.

Here is where u can get the script and the build of DD. => Link
And to get best performance, look at the weapon configuration in my little video. Have changed the config already a little bit, but for fire speed it does not matter.
But you need to be really careful, as you overheat quickly. Press the button once and all 6 ACs goes off

Hi, I'm unsure how to apply the script in your link - to which file and can this script be used without a specialised mouse?

I used 6xAC2, and still had respectable armor.
The two groups i found most viable was to have 3 groups of 2 AC/2's each, or have all slaved to one group firing at the same time.Rather brutal.

U need autohotkey, you can download this nice little tool here => http://www.autohotkey.com/

I have stripped down to 5 AC/2 right now, increased ammo by one ton and added additional DHS. Also got one more ton armor. I must say, this makes more fun as u dont get this hot again and with the few points addiitonal armor u can take a bit more hits.

I run a dakka dakka jager.. i wont give away my setup as its pritty much as good a balance u can get between ammo, heat, armor , speed... but needles to say its more fun than viable.

You will be burning through 8 to 12 rounds per second (depnding on number of Ac2's) and overheat like crazy specialy on hot maps ..but its alot of fun and the comments u get are priceless.

I will give yall one major tip that almost every1 forgets. ... Ping... put your ping into ur timing calculations or u will be way of the mark and be miss-timing and missing cooldowns alot.

Word of warnign though ..with the current server side rubberbanding/lag/netcode issues ..u wont get a smooth rapid fire, it will have delays and such and can realyl spoil the whole idea of a rapid fire ac2 setup..untill PGI fix it u will get frustraited.

I run a 4xAC2 -S and can "simulate" a macroed chain fire my simply tapping chain fire (right mouse), then holding down the group fire (left mouse). This throws one AC out of sync, making a hell of a racket in the opponent's cockpit. DPS/heat is the same, since you are still firing every cooldown.
