Yes. With the enhancements to the AC 20, there's not doubt that the AC 20 is the go to brawling weapon so the low hp's are not necessary. I'd also like to see the explosion chance on crit lowered.

No I don't. The thing about having a Gauss was it was a Glass hammer. It hit hard but blew up real easy. So 3 HP is more than I am use to.

I personally would like to see the Gauss Rifle's HP upped to 5 HP, then the chance for explosion lowered to 75% or so.

What I want to know, though, is how much damage does the Gauss Rifle explosion deal? Is it just 20 points to internals?

Got PMs on this. As you all know, Gauss ammo is inert. Which is great. Gauss rifles are giant magnets with capacitors and such.
They get damage, they go boom. Fine.
If we follow the trend in MWO, TT is out for "realism". Fine.
If your gonna buff an AC20 to god-like HP because it fills so many crits, fine too.
Here is my ultimate beef. This game is still brawl-centric. Hence buff to best brawl weapon in game.
Gauss rifle ammo explosion is bugged or funky, either way its messed up.
Simple solution, raise its HP back to the SAME as EVERYTHING else.

I think it's fine. If it had much more HP I would install one on my Atlas instead of AC/20, and that would give me a ridiculous ranged weapon that still works in a brawl. Gauss should not work in a brawl (IMO) and the low HP basically does that.

If it was going to have more HP, I think it should be ineffective at short range -- dealing less damage inside of 200m.

Gauss rifles seem like they're in a good place in the game. You still seem them fairly frequently because the effective range and lack of heat is quite impressive. They're still worth taking in certain roles and configurations. But they're not the flat out best they once were a long time ago.

Yeah that's why we dont sit 1000 m apart and poke all day with ER PPCs.

It needs a HP buff of some kind. its to fragile atm. All matchs end up in some kind of brawl, u loose it way to fast.

I think its fine because early on there was no reason not to take the rifle over the AC20. Now you have a little risk when up close instead of all reward. Early on people literally laughed at you if you sported an AC20 over the rifle, now its different. Up close they respect the AC20 and far away they respect the rifle. As it should be.

I am not sure why the Gauss Rifle needs 3 hit points and a 90 % chance to explode when destroyed when ammo bins have 10 hit points and a 10 % chance to explode.

AFAIK, the Gauss Rifle had the same explosion chance in TT as an ammo bin, and it was considered a balanced weapon among Level 2 Tech items.

I'd love to see different hp for all the ballistics. A tiny boost to gauss would fit well.

I'd say the gauss should have its HP set to 4.25 and its projectile speed upped. Its projectile seems way too slow.

The gauss is far too fragile and with the AC/20 being viable there is no reason for that anymore IMO. The way it is now the second you lose armor in the section with a gauss it explodes.
