I haven't been able to play MWO since last patch :D sad panda.
Game has become unplayable due to a signficant drop to fps. Not sure whats going on?
So here I am reading the forums and watching MWO on youtube and listening to the pod casts, trying to get my daily fix (I pretty much exclusivley play MWO atm), and subsequntly figured out how to post (this is my first... *pop*).

Is there a fix or new patch coming? Or is it my machine that's failing?

I was having so much fun. I think I might go check MW Tactics... Or just play MW Tactical command.

Forums cherry just poped ... I feel so dirty.

You're not missing out on much. It's still the same game, I'm sure they'll fix it.

I'm having withdrawals, voluntary ones.

I'll come back and play more, and pay more, when PGI fixes more bugs and begins putting out content that isn't stale.

If you haven't yet, you can try doing a reinstall of the game, it's helped some people with graphical glitches/ FPS loss.
Otherwise I'm hearing a lot about network related issues with the latest patch, I've been hit off and on as well.

MWO Cryengine 3 really demands alot from your computer. May I ask for the specs of your computer? For me and my group, there is some improvement on the FPS. Of course the various bugs still persist....

I think MWO is very much unpolished and demands alot from the graphic card even though when it shouldnt be.

For example War Thunder runs beautifully on my friend's computer but he cant run MWO for barely 30 FPS. Then again War Thunder has a couple of years of development under their belt and have time to optimise their game engine.

If your computer is 3-4 years old, I really suggest an upgrade especially for MWO, as I said, as of now, MWO really demands alot of resources.

The patching of this game is so damn slow that I try to avoid a reinstall because that will probably take DAYS!

All the different bugs are reaching amusing levels and kinda spices up the game.

- no map
- map but locked, don't follow mech movements
- map but its spins around constantly.
- map but now the ENTIRE ui spins.
- no map and no markers for friendly or enemy. Chat does not work either so I cannot apologize for trying to cut of the ears of a friendly cat. Good God!
- Finally I got map but now I randomly teleports.
- I got map again and I don't teleport, the enemy mechs does.
- Working map but only with grid.

Almost never got anything of this before the last patch.

Yep...same problem...same response...same fustration,

I play two computers..my laptop and a desktop with a nice graphics card...

That last patch was a deal breaker for my laptop...I can now literally count the frame refresh now...which makes the game totally unplayable on that venue...even a missile game. So 80 percent of my potential opportunities for this game are now toasted.

I also notice my desktop has experience some degredation...but is playable.

Don't know why this has happened...not a computer geek...just a game geek who is also a obsessive Mecha geek....who would be shelling out beaucoup hard dollars playing that obsession to PGI....if this game could...like virtually ALL OTHE MMP's be played on my laptop using severely reduced graphic settings...

Funny thing is...this ain't my first rodeo...beta tested MW3 and 4....and the exact same issues came up with both releases...BUT...even though laptops could not get all the pretties....we could still effectively play the game....and shell out the MONEY to play our obsession...

This is probably the NUMBER ONE area a small game developer like PGI should focus upon...BROADENING the BASE at the lower end by working the code to work on a wideer range of PC units.. If you fail this task..you guarantee the financial failure of the game... Its ALWAYS better to have millions of individuals contribute $30 to support a product than 10,000 pay $3,000.

That's basic marketing...and taking advantage of this basic concept is not elitist nonsense...

It's basic common sense...

Yeah I'm playing on my wife's laptop right now, and that machine is a couple of years old, draaaag. I need a new desk top for work and have to get on to that in the next month or so.
Sounds like I just gotta be patient for the time being.

Yeah tried re-install a couple of times. The second time was out of desperation.
Network problems ey? I'm not sure what that means for me but sounds like it could be fixed one day.
Thanks for the tip mate.

I would also like to add: I understand that PGI is a small company/ group and that they are taking on a mammoth task, also MWO is still a baby (the game is less than 1yr old). I'm just saying, I'm having a blast playing and hope I can be playing for a long time to come.

I've been decently stable since I updated my graphics driver. I still get random HUD bugs, but my CTD and polygon issue hasn't returned (yet).

have you contacted support yet?

they may want to see your logs to see if they can fix your problem. If they don't know about the problem how can they fix it (assuming your scenario is unique)?

no, ive had the same problem as Bleeker. When they did last Thurday's hotpatch, i went from 30 FPS to around 10 with the same set-up. Ive done some things like lower my graphical settings and lower the resolution but i can only summon 15-20 FPS in an unsteady fashion, making the mechs look like there stuttering. Ive been forced to play other games as a result

I know this feeling - many users have reported performance losses of 10-20fps since the last patch, me included; the only 'fix' which seems to have worked for me was to halve my screen resolution in the attributes.xml file and use a customized user.cfg file for low end machines.
MWO is kind of playable for me, again, though I still have no idea what's wrong.

Also, some users have suggested that Nvidia GPUs may not detect 3D scenes in MWO and try instead to render 2D scenes with reduced power under certain settings...
Apparently, using MSI Afterburner to force the GPU to work at its full load even on 2D scenes can potentially fix this issue; I've tried to apply this fix, too, though it doesn't seem to have helped any.

But I think you should try it anyway.

As for MWTactics, I've never played it, but from what I hear, it's not very well-optimized at this point, so performance could actually be as bad as MWO.

Well after last night I was so tired of all of the bugs, glitches and such that I sold everything except my founders mech and uninstalled the game.
I have over 1 million experience points and 300 mil cb with 35000 mc. It was hard to quit but it was this or throw my computer against the wall.

So long and have fun.

Well if it is not a gaming laptop, it is not going to cut it. And laptops arent exactly very heat efficient XD try getting double heatsinks haha jking. Trying to put something under your laptop to prop it up, improves airflow alittle :P

I play on my desktop which is abt midrange graphic wise last yr haha. Good to hear you are planning to get a desktop. Hopefully they are affordable where you are at.

As for the others with those graphic bugs, are you guys using nvidia? The latest patch notes said something about tweaking about nvidia drivers related thingy lol. Sorry im not exactly a tech guy, just a gamer being an amateur
