well that wasnt really an answer and very unhelpful.

PPCs were recently adjusted. Their heat was LOWERED because they were too hot to run effectively (in most situations). They also added the ECM disruption effect. Prior to those changes PPCs were quite rare on the battlefield. Now they are everywhere. I think the adjustment worked well.

Does anyone know when the missiles will be fixed(they need more demage) and when the PPC will be fixed(they dont run hot enough)

Link me please or give me the information. Cant search in forum the function seems to be broken.

Well....Considering everything you mentioned isn't ACTUALLY broken, but just not to some peoples (yourself included) liking, I don't think there is a rush to tweak these items.

PPCs are plenty hot and MAYBE the LRMs could use a buff, but they have been tweaked more times than I can count. I think it is where PGI wants it, so I wouldn't expect any real noticable changes to LRMs.

Basically, you sir are wrong LOL

P.S. Now something like the HUD not loading properly, that is something that is "Broken"

Not so recently (August maybe) their ROF was reduced from 4 to 3. At the time everyone laughed "wow they just made a weapon that is way to hot, hotter."

PPC's are common for three reasons:

1. (the least) AWS-8Q is on the trial rotation.
2. LRM's are currently effectively down for maintenance while a new spread pattern is developed. This has led to a rise of the long range direct fire battlemech.
3. Energy slots are more common on 'mechs with more tonnage to play with than ballistic slots. This means people are looking to take the best long range direct fire weapons they can in those slots, and lasers have always been terrible sniping weapons due to how they tend to spread damage over a target at great ranges. Stalkers, especially, have only energy slots and missile slots. With missiles effectively out, lots of stalker pilots are refitting for the new long-range playstyle.

When LRM's are back in as a functional weapon system, long range direct fire weapons will recede slightly in popularity. Right now, their natural predator has been removed from the mech-ecosystem, and we're seeing the result.

The long range sniper is actually the natural predator of the LRM boat, I can hit you, harder, and get back under cover WELL before your missiles get to me. In closed beta you would bring K2s then run around looking for LRM boats to blast.

With ECM the LRM boats largely vanished, and the dual gauss was nerfed into the floor (you are kind of silly to torso mount a guass now) so the long range builds went away in favor of crushing short range brawlers (D-DC, A1s, various phracs etc.)

Now LRMs is trash, AND heavy energy is usable, amplified by builds like cent bombs and A1s getting their teeth pulled. Couple that with two BIG maps in high rotation.

No kidding large lasers, PPCs, and guass are making a comeback. Running a short range assault means you are going to be chasing the fight 70% of most games.

Actually, I believe it's the opposite. LRMs can fire from under cover and force the sniper into cover. I think we'll have to compromise and consider them both apex predators (When LRMs are working properly)

The LRM boat can only fire under cover with a spotter.

So firing into a brawl, you may pull off. Most people with their head on straight watch where the LRM is coming from.

Again, not disagreeing with you, but when LRMs are in play, as a sniper, you're not going to stand flat footed firing at will. So, they both counter each other. Agree to disagree and get back on topic?

You will almost never catch me standing still to start with. Where there are 4-6 llas and PPC stalkers in numbers of two or three in every game, LRM is literally the least of the things that I'm concerned with.

Being in view of a bunch-a-ppc stalker is, they are a hell of a lot harder to dodge.

Teh trial one without DHS runs really cool when you actually have a head on your shoulder and don' suffer some weird disease that makes you unable to push any other button than the LMB.

It's also slow as a brick, and contains no weapons except PPCs (the small laser doesn't count) which makes it a rather bad mech. It only cools as well as it does because every single non-ppc ton is devoted to heatsinks (and a small laser).

p.s. OP why is your name KuritaGuard when you are in house Steiner? I need to have a word with you...
