If you've ever played any FPS game competitively, and have knowledge of map awareness, lanes, mouse cursor placement, coms, baiting, etc.. etc......
....then pubbing without a team is downright painful......
sure, some of these people have never played competitive, let alone mechwarrior, let alone maybe any FPS, but it really just hurts logging into a server and getting rushed by 2-3 mechs while your team sits in the back, torso twisting and looking at the sky

PUG is a Picked Up Group, and PUGing is playing with strangers.
PUBing.... is playing drunk?
mech warrior is all Public matches currently.

It does look cool, doesn't it? But really it's the same as the usual C1. Mine just has a nose cone. I do like PGI's new damage textures. Just wish I could see them.
They're always yogurt stains on my screen.

Pubbing is more popular term and it refers to playing "public games". I had never heard about Pugging until mwo.

I like the randomness of it. I especially like fighting premades because it is a challenge.
You just can't design specialist builds for PUGs. Not unless you are dropping in a group. You have to assume you will be on your own by default, and plan accordingly. I basically treat my PUG teammates as either extra armor, or decoys, or both.

Ermm....been playing online for many more years than I care to admit, but I've never heard of pubbing.
I think PUG is the more popular term, at least here in the US.
