I have actually scored 5 kills with arty/airstrikes now.

Of course I could have killed the enemy mech with my weapons more efficiently, but then it would not have the proper "You do not deserve a warrior's death" aspect to the kill.

Disconnected mechs which you first carefully shot up to red internals? Sure. Real mechs in real situations? Not buying it.

Legged a spider, dropped a strike on it's head.

Was pounding a Stalker, had him to red internals and he was backing up, put the strike behind him and he walked into it.

Jenner was on our base, he charged me as I approached. I set the strike at my feet, JJ'd forward as the jenner got close, he ate the airstrike and died (he was already bright red in 2 torsos)

In a big brawl I dropped an Arty strike in the middle of the fight, killed a Catapult, did not see much else since I was running like a little girl at the time.

Last one was also confusing, big sniper duel on desert, I set the airstrike on the ridge and dual gaussed the Catapult, then the strike hit and I got the kill. It is possible that the gauss hit some ammo and the airstrike was icing on the cake, but the kill message came right after the arty (which hit about 1/2 second after my guass), so I am not sure.



The arty/airstrikes need help, no question, but they are fun to use.

You took the leg off a mech that has less than 25 total health for the leg!?

Oh my god, that redeems these items.

No, I took the leg off with real weapons, then dropped the airstrike on it for the kill.

And it does not redeem them at all. They need LOTS of help, I am not trying to suggest that they don't. I was just saying that it *is* possible to get a kill with them, just like it is possible to kill something with a MG. But you are still better off using ANY other weapon. Unless you are trying to make a statement of "You are too worthless to use a real weapon on now, so here is some artillery"
