I don't understand how so many players in ALL match based combat games (this,WoT,SC....etc) say GG at the end of a match that was clearly a walk over. There was nothing good about it.Personaly I don't feel good about a win that was handed to me by the match maker (I say handed to me by the match maker because more often than not if it was a walk over you were facing a comed up team).Sure the exp/creds are nice for the win but don't rub it in by saying GG at the end of a match.A good match is one that the TWO teams (green/red) have to fight hard to get the win.A fight that comes down to 2-3 mechs....that's a good game.

Walk overs are still good games for the steppers. I'd rather see GG at the end of a match than "You guys all suck"

Just sayin

It is called being polite.
If you are the stompie ... You do not tell the losers how pathetic you think they are.
If you were the stomped ... You know how to lose with some class.

If you were never taught manners you post this thread.

For the same reason that sports players shake hands and say "Good Game" after the game, even if it was a roflstomp.

It's called "Good Sportsmanship"

If you stomp allthetime you start to recognise the good, the bad and the mediocore stomps. Good stomps deserve a GG :D

This, although people should remember that it's impolite for the winning team to say it first.

if it was a hard fought match it is a GG even if it was a rollover.

if the winning team says GG first, it is not impolite - it means that you fought well.

Sportsmanship. If it's an obvious roll it shows the griefers that their antics are not bothering you, which is their goal. If it wasn't, then it is well deserved praise. Even if the matchmaker ensures you lose, I've had a few games where the disadvantaged side pulled some awesome tricks. It's still a loss, but in the end it was a GG. I'll even add a WP (well played) if they showed extra cunning!

When I play, I start with a 'o7' and a 'gg' at the end, because, that is my style.
Win, lose, or wtfstomp...

Had an interesting moment regarding this topic last night.

I was dropping with a 4 man, We were running a 2 phracts and 2 hunchies. The round I'm referencing the 4 mechs rounding out our team were a jenner, a spider and 2 trebs.

It's rivercity night the other team only has 7 mechs, we groan because we think it's gonna be a rollover... stupid mismatches grumble grumble...

so the enemy team sweeps to the upper city and seems to be setting up a long range firing platform and thats when we started getting a clue of what we were dealing with: 3 atlases, 2 stalkers, and a phract and a jaeger. Despite the the fact we had 1 more mech we were significantly out-tonned.

so we played a guerilla game tagging the base teasing them out of position, we ended up wiping them out without any losses. It looked for all the world like a roll against a short manned but between the tonnage difference, the fact that more than half the our team were bright red internals on critical locations (I mean we were beat up), and that we had to play a dangerous hit and run game that could easily have gone the other way.
It was a great game hard fought but both sides, and i said so.... and caught flak for it from team Assault mech. As a rule i don't GG unless it's 1 or 2 mech difference but this one... was a great game.

was I the **** here?
